Responsibilities:
 

The Paranoids seek a Product Security Intern that will join the Community Driven Security team to work on a Product Security-related project for Summer 2023!
 

The intern will complete a project based on the Community Driven Security's needs and the interns interest. Possible projects could be related to the following areas: 

  • Build automation to improve the speed at which the Product Security organization is able to complete security reviews, triage security findings, or other manual processes that could be automated.

  • Integrate a product security tool into the CICD pipeline to help Yahoo Engineers find and remediate vulnerabilities sooner in the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Analyze findings data from Product Security tools or Bug Bounty reports to remediate vulnerabilities holistically across Yahoo products.

  • Create Endorsement material for our Security Champion program, Deputy Paranoids, to educate Yahoo Engineers about best practices in a specific Security space.

 

Requirements:

  • A passion for the cyber security space and currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate program for Cyber Security, Software Engineering, or related degrees.

  • Willingness to learn, adjust based on constructive feedback, and ask questions when curious or instructions are unclear.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AWS, including Lambda, EC2, RDS, and more

  • Experience writing Python scripts

  • Familiarity with Cloud, Mobile, or Web App Security best practices

The compensation for this position ranges from $45,760.00 - $135,200.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
