Description: 

Yahoo is seeking a Product Management Intern to support a PM  team charged with developing tools and processes to engage consumers with personalized, relevant and timely experiences that improve adoption of Yahoo product features and paid offering. The products our team builds are used by internal product and marketing teams to create and optimize campaigns with velocity and autonomy, and include: flexible campaign configuration tools, robust segmentation capabilities and deep performance insights.


The internship will be divided into three phases:  

Developing an understanding of the tools product and marketing managers use to deliver campaigns at Yahoo today, as well as the types of campaigns Marketers create using the tools

Looking beyond Yahoo to assess cutting edge approaches to digital marketing to drive user adoption and engagement, informed by research into industry trends and best practices, as well as through observation of approaches used by competitors

Tying phases 1 and 2 together by summarizing findings and presenting recommendations for products, capabilities, and practices that would allow marketers to be more effective.


Additionally, the intern will have opportunities to work with a team of Product Managers, Program Managers, Data Specialists, and Strategists on ad hoc projects that could include:

Opportunity sizing of new product initiatives

Strategic planning for new campaigns that could include journey mapping

Campaign evaluation to deliver audience insights to marketers

Support of our efforts to document and democratize the user data that allows marketers to target campaigns


Skills & Experience

  • Pursuit or completion of a bachelor's degree that includes focus on Business, Marketing, Statistics and/or Advertising.

  • Verbal and written skills to be able to communicate effectively to both a technical and business audience

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Perspective around digital marketing, especially in Media and Technology contexts, and opinions about what does and doesn’t constitute effective digital marketing practices

  • Comfort with technical and statistical concepts

  • Ability to organize detailed information and surface insights

  • Passion for practical applications of large data sets

The compensation for this position ranges from $45,760.00 - $135,200.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about.
