Yahoo Sports is looking for a video content producer/editor to assist with podcast production and third-party partnerships. This position will be responsible for all facets of on-demand segments — working closely with talent and partners to develop videos for the Yahoo on-network and off-network/social channels.

This is an NYC-based position requiring at least 2-3 days per week in the office/studio.

 

Responsibilities:

•Collaborate with producers & talent from Yahoo’s partner productions to create VOD franchises and segments - creating content that informs, engages and entertains

•Coordinate with Yahoo editorial colleagues on talking points & focus of segments

•Gather and prepare production elements for shows including player stats, photos, motion graphics, and sponsor integrations

•Review video edits and provide critical feedback to editors with the utmost attention to detail

•Publish all finished segments — including writing headlines, descriptions, and creating thumbnails

•Generate creative video ideas to support Yahoo Sports’ goals for audience, engagement and revenue 

•Serve as field producer at major tentpole sporting events when needed

•Familiarity and comfort working across numerous distribution channels (e.g., app, web, social media) and formats (live, long-form VOD, short-form VOD)

Qualifications/Requirements:

•College Degree or equivalent

•Minimum five (5) years of production experience, preferably within sports media 

•Conversant in all sports, and a required passion for Soccer (domestic & international). Additional knowledge in Combat Sports (MMA, UFC, WWE) is a plus

•Familiarity with fantasy sports is a plus 

•Flexibility to operate within a fast-paced environment 

•Strong work ethic, self-start initiative, positive attitude, and the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities is a must

•Excellent communication and organizational skills

•General knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred — must have the ability to edit video 

•Open to working evenings/nights and/or weekends/holidays when necessary based on the sports calendar

The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
