Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states.
Reports to: Laboratory Supervisor
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science - Required
Graduation from NAACLS-Accredited Program - Preferred
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses:
edical Technologist Generalist or Laboratory Supervisor by the Tennessee State Board of Health is Preferred
Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification (ASCP or AMT) Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association training center is required within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire
Minimum Work Experience
One (1) year experience in a clinical laboratory as a technologist, hospital environment - Preferred
