Hendersonville's Premier Private Club

Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club was founded 18 years before the incorporation of the city of Hendersonville. A former plantation home, the 100-acre property meanders through rolling hills and extends to the full-service marina on the banks of Old Hickory Lake. Bluegrass has counted numerous celebrities among its former Members, including Reba McEntire, Roy Orbison and Conway Twitty, and has welcomed visitors like Vince Gill, Glen Campbell and Col. Harlan Sanders. The Club continues to be a welcome home to the Hendersonville community.

Championship Golf in Hendersonville

Designed by Robert Bruce Harris in 1951, our 18-hole championship golf course has been host to numerous USGA and TGA championship qualifying events. Lush Bermuda grass and tree-lined fairways teamed with strategically placed bentgrass greens provide Members with a challenging and visually attractive golf experience. A full-service pro shop, driving range, putting and chipping greens, a handicap system and outstanding professional instruction for all ages and levels round out our roster of exceptional golf amenities.

 

Job Summary

This position will assist in daily golf operations to include pro-shop and outside services, supervise all non-exempt golf, pro-shop and outside services staff drive revenue and programming efforts control assets promote the game of golf (including lessons and selling and managing tournaments).

Day-to-Day

  • Train and Implement Procedures for Golf and Pro Shop Attendants, and Outside Services Staff.
  • Assign and develop work-efficient schedules to meet staffing needs of Golf Operations, Pro Shop, Outside Services, and Clubs repair business, and as warranted, recruit and hire staff to provide superior level of member services.
  • Profit/Loss responsibility for merchandise in Pro Shop assist with budgeting plan and maintain inventory levels implement inventory control and counting procedures for staff to follow to ensure constantly stocked items establish standards for merchandise display, pricing, and promotions to be followed by golf shop attendants to encourage sales and address member orders.
  • Effective communication with staff, members, and Senior Management.
  • In the event of the Director of Golf/Head Golf Professionals absence, supervise and manage all aspects of Clubs Golf department.
  • Be informed of and promote all Club activities and services, including selling and managing tournaments, and other special events (scheduling, directing, and utilizing staff to perform necessary functions to provide successful tournaments and special events).
  • Direct and guide staff, according to Invited and PGA Standards to promote golf clinics, private lessons, and adult, junior and senior programs, and assist, as necessary, to ensure member satisfaction and that Club Standards are met. Also have the ability to teach and provide instruction.

About You

  • PGA PGM Associate Program Level 3 or Member.
  • College degree preferred, High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience. Expanded Golf Knowledge.
  • Proven track record of team management, organizational and coaching skills.
  • Experience with tee sheets and inventory systems. 

Compensation

Base Pay $45,000 to $55,000 Based On Experience + $3,000 t0 $5,000 or more in anticipated lesson income.
