We’re looking for a tech-savvy, creative, and multi-tasking Photo Editor with a strong background in lifestyle and entertainment. Exceptional communication skills are essential as you collaborate closely with the Photography Director and Visual team to source photography that elevates our storytelling. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that users’ content experiences are always of the highest quality.
What you’ll do:
Collaborate with writers and reporters to conceptualize and source photography for lifestyle, entertainment, and news content.
Source and negotiate rights for photography on breaking news stories, ensuring visuals meet editorial and brand standards.
Create storytelling photo galleries and other visual features across diverse topics, blending creativity with journalistic integrity.
Respond to photo requests from writers and reporters quickly, efficiently, accurately, and collaboratively.
Assign and oversee photography or illustration projects as needed.
Contribute to the evolution of Yahoo News’ visual identity, ensuring a consistent and impactful presence across platforms.
What you bring:
6+ years of experience in photo editing within a news or media organization.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, with a proven ability to conceptualize and produce photo illustrations under tight timelines.
Experience working within a CMS and a basic understanding of HTML.
A solid understanding of copyright laws.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to partner effectively with designers and multidisciplinary teams.
Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering quality visuals.

) page to learn more.The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
