Sr. Manager, Creative Service Operations

About You: You’re a strong operational leader who finds tremendous satisfaction in bringing creative to life in a fast-paced retail environment. You are detail oriented and can facilitate delivery of complex assets that drive a business while maintaining creative integrity and brand. The Senior Manager, Creative Operations leads Creative Department workload forecasting and works directly with the Director of Creative Operations and VP of Creative in continuous assessment of department bandwidth and contractor resources. You will drive the pre-planning and quarterly scoping for the department along with facilitating casting of creative and studio resources to projects.
About the Role: You will manage and develop the team tasked with the delivery of our Drivetime execution in support of promotions and cross-channel asset requests that support multiple campaigns. Organization and multi-tasking abilities as well as excellence in communication are essential for this position. Radical collaboration across our brand planning team, ecommerce and promo team along with our development partners is key.

The Creative Operations team, part of our larger Marketing department, works closely with cross-functional partners to provide strategic recommendations and plans that support efficient and focused workflow. We pride ourselves in our ability to remove roadblocks and eliminate noise to allow our partners to focus on what’s important: developing exceptional and consistent brand-focused creative across all channels. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Essential functions—
- Identify and drive transformational efforts that ensure efficiency improvements and accuracy in overall project scoping.
- Collaborate with creative managers and creative producers to ensure team of Ops Specialists are appropriately resourcing designers and copywriters.
- Oversee timeline development and ensure deadlines can be achieved.
- Develop relationships with channel marketing partners to establish clear communication.
- Effectively communicate project or workload tradeoffs to Partners.
- Ensure methods in which to obtain project goals, requirements and specifications are optimal to ensuring creative efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with MarDev Marketing partners to ensure communication of upcoming scopes, timelines and anticipated pivots are accurate and clear.
- Ensure on-time and accurate delivery of final assets to MarDev via the Production Studio.
- Continuously drive process improvements within Drivetime, Email and On-Platform workflows, collaborating closely with the Creative Producers team members leading Drivetime, On-Platform and Email.
- Lead in PM tool implementation, driving adoption and transformation in how the overall organization utilizes the PM tools.
- Provide executional direction and leadership to the Production Studio Design & Copy teams.
- Source of support in removing blockers and clarifying requirements.
- Advocate to ensure work enters the Production Studio team pipeline at the appropriate time, negotiating workflow timelines and shifts as needed.
- Growth and development of Production Studio Designers & Copywriter/PM, nurturing dotted line relationships between Designers/Copywriter and Creative Managers.
- Active recruitment as team evolves, including oversight of future internship program.
- Proactive identification of when contractor support is required, outlining scopes and engaging/securing resources.
- Manage department contractor and tool budget working directly with finance, photography partners in support of VP.
- Supervisory responsibilities—
- Reporting to the Director of Creative Operations, you will lead our Operations Project Managers, the glue that holds together the details of each project in support of the broader Creative team.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.A or B.S with 10-15 years of experience in project management, production, oversight in an agency or in-house creative team.
- Creative project management experience within a media and marketing environment, ad agency, or design studio.
- Outstanding presentation skills with an ability to present a clear point of view and drive alignment and clarity for cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage heavy workloads, prioritize work appropriately, and meet assigned deadlines; impeccable organizational and analytical skills (including attention to detail).
- Natural ability to create strong and effective internal partnerships across cross-functional teams, and thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Instinctual ability to see challenges before they arise, troubleshoot, and re-prioritize as needed. Willingness to embrace a fluid environment and be a beacon of calm for a busy team. Focuses efforts on driving and achieving process objectives.
