NVH Senior Supply Chain Manager

Tenneco Monroe, MI (Onsite) Full-Time

Supply Chain Senior Manager responsible for leading a division-level inventory strategy, and team of inventory analysts, across all the NVH Global plants. You will create and implement the Global Inventory Strategy in a high volume, team oriented, and automotive environment providing long-term planning to support plant objectives for on-time delivery, inventory dollars, DOH & inventory accuracy. You will use a combination of data and expertise to achieve the product availability goals through optimal inventory positioning. You will develop cross-functional partnerships to analyze transportation & operational capabilities that drive maximum speed, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

Main activities:

  • Develop and drive a strategic deployment road map of system and analytical tools delivering step change improvements for the five regions with significant benefits in both cost and cash for each region.
  • Ensure that each regional road map covers:
    • All aspects of the SCM maturity model.
    • Recruitment and training in line with the SCM staffing model.
    • Gaps on SAP applications and add on tools in order to have a fully integrated capacity and production system in SAP
  • Annual budget planning (AOP) for supply chain related areas that effectively contribute to the overall manufacturing objectives and targets:
    • SCM Regional/Plant Capital Projects
    • SCM staff and manning Requirements
    • Standard freight & Premium Freight
    • Inventory Value & DOH
    • Inventory adjustments
    • Cycle counting and annual physical inventory
  • Lead and pro-actively participate in the People development, design and creation of analytical tools and development of standard processes.
    • Recruitment, selection, training, and development of all supply chain salaried professionals across all regions.
    • Design, create and deployment of SCM, automated, analytical tools and performance metrics for Global, Regional and Plants to use.
    • Development and deployment of standard, best in class SCM processes to improve their efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead Inventory Managing activities:
    • AOP setting Gross, Net and DOH for all Plants and Regions.
    • Monthly forecast alignment with Regional and Global Finance teams.
    • Weekly tracking reviews with each region - GM and operational teams.
    • Overseeing Inventory reduction plans for each Plant and Region on a weekly basis.
    • Review waterfall charts for forecast and latest outlook with each Plants and Regions.
    • Finance support with ad hoc Inventory analysis.
    • Weekly summary briefing to RC Executive team.
  • Oversee excess and obsolescence exercises quarterly by all regions. Ensure that material opportunities across all regions are taken to minimize the cost and waste.
  • Monthly Report key performance metrics and identify gaps in performance and establishes strategic and/or tactical direction for improved performance within each Plant, Region.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance to company policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and cost-efficient environment at all time.
  • Be familiar with and ethically operate in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and governmental procedures relative to purchasing and financial reporting activities.
  • Support and lead system implementations, material flow transformations and cost /cash improvement projects for:
    • Customer requirement management.
    • Integrated capacity and production planning.
    • Efficient and minimal internal material movements.
    • Internal and supplier material scheduling and replenishment processes.
    • Warehouse management.
  • Work with transportation management teams to determine the most economical inbound / outbound routes, looking for opportunities to combine shipments, milk runs, and warehouse consolidation and distribution.
  • Assist with coordination of engineering changes, product balance outs and new product launches with suppliers and customers, to insure orderly and timely transition in the flow of materials and production requirements while managing material with minimal to no obsolescence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience Leader Materials/Scheduling/Supply Chain in multisite in automotive companies
  • Proficiency with SAP
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing work environment
  • Understanding of Lean principles
  • Bilingual (Spanish- English)
  • Availability to travel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated successful management of delivery, WIP control, distribution, buying, production planning and scheduling
  • High energy candidate with passion for achieving results
  • Inventory control/Physical Inventory Champion.
  • APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) desirable.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to business trends and customer requirements, technical procedures, logistical systems, and government regulations.
  • Must maintain strong training skills and desire to develop systems approaches; good complex problem solving and action planning skills.
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedural manuals to effectively present data/information to large groups, including customers.
  • Solid application/experience with lean manufacturing principles, including Kan-Ban, visual inventory, 5S, EOQ, SMED.
