Supply Chain Planning Coordinator
Arconic Tennessee Operations has an opportunity for a Supply Chain Planning Coordinator at our Alcoa, Tennessee location. This opening is located at one of the most modern aluminum fabricating facilities in the world. Our plants produce high-quality molten metal and aluminum sheet and are recognized as a world leader in the business. The facility has been located at the Foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains for 100 years and continues to thrive and grow.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with responsibility for planning and coordinating metal being send to outside processors. This position requires excellent communication skills as the incumbent will be working directly with production, finance, and procurement departments and managers daily. This position requires the ability to work occasional weekends and off shifts.
The incumbent's responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Plan and manage material leaving Tennessee Operations to arrive in a timely manner to outside processor(s) (OSPs)
- Ensure that material leaves OSP and arrives at designated location on time.
- Coordinated flow of materials, going to outside processor through the respective internal processes
- Resolve discrepant metal, monitor aged inventory, and analyze information for solutions.
- Coordinate and ensure that customer product strategically positioned for long term production outages at OSP as needed.
- Manage transportation carrier Performance and Reporting, to include problem solving missed pickup/deliveries, calculate and report carrier cost information, ensure carrier requirements are met, etc. for OSP.
- Serve as team member on the OSP Readiness Team.
- Manage improvement opportunities (DI's), project execution, tracking, and updating.
- Process freight claim request associated with OSP material.
- Provide support ABS initiatives in the logistics and planning areas; enable change through employee involvement, waste elimination, daily management/problem solving, and continuous improvement; participate in Daily Management driving effective use of ABS tools.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- 1 year of related experience
- Employes must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Logistics, or other related field.
- 2 years of related experience
- Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Office
- Proficient with spreadsheets, including Excel
- Knowledge in SAP, Oracle, or other inventory management system
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of ABS or Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong problem solving and communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of the organization required
- Must be able to demonstrate mutli-tasking skills and be able to work independently and with cross functional teams
