Sr. Systems Engineer

TD SYNNEX San José, San José Province (Onsite) Full-Time

A Senior Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in promoting product awareness and providing pre-sales technical support, which includes offering phone support, creating system diagrams, crafting proposals, and delivering training to enhance sales of a funding vendor's product line. This position requires travel for training and participation in trade shows and marketing events, all while operating under the guidance of Systems Engineering Management. The engineer establishes and nurtures strong business relationships with vendors, customers, sales teams, and technical services across the organization. They identify opportunities to enhance the quality of Systems Engineering engagement and take ownership of suggested improvements, collaborating with the TD SYNNEX - SHYFT GLOBAL SERVICES team, vendors, and management to implement effective solutions. Additionally, the engineer works closely with Systems Engineering Management to develop both technical and professional skills within the Services Division, while maintaining a leadership role by supporting various initiatives across the team, department, division, and corporate levels. ​

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required:

  • Provide support in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Provide technical solutions and configuration design assistance to customers and sales on specified product line(s).
  • Provide internal and external technical presentations and training.
  • Report on key metrics as designated by product line(s) of responsibility and distribute monthly update to SE Manager, Product Marketing Team, and vendor representative(s).
  • Update TD SYNNEX - SHYFT GLOBAL SERVICES systems and tools with accurate technical data on specific product line(s).
  • Assist in determining your individual developmental needs and suggest specific actions to obtain necessary training and/or work experience.
  • Proactively seek and participate in cross-training activities.
  • Provide non-technical presentations and training to support staff on soft skills and professional skills.
  • Participate in departmental projects in senior leadership/ownership role including the creation, management and implementation of departmental projects. * Identify processes and procedures needing improvement and suggest and implement resolutions.
  • Assist Systems Engineering Management in assessing candidates for positions within the department.
  • Assist in determining developmental needs of other Systems Engineers and Associate System Engineers and suggest specific actions to provide necessary training and/or work experience.
  • Provide technical and non-technical input to team members, project leaders, and management, as appropriate.

  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.
  • Able to use relevant computer system applications (which may include spreadsheets, word processors, databases, etc) at an intermediate level.
