CI Engineer

We are looking for a CI Engineer. The CI Engineer will report to the Continuous Improvement Manager and will lead and promote the site’s continuous improvement initiatives designed to eliminate non-value-added activities while improving operational excellence. This position ensures existing processes maintain a high level of performance while continuously reviewing and refining those processes. This individual will facilitate projects aimed at generating continuous improvement techniques, cost reduction, and process performance improvements. Provide efficient leadership and cost-effective integration of Continuous Improvement, creating operational excellence. Provide training and continuous improvement activities throughout the plant, while serving as a subject matter expert

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate Continuous Improvement projects, cost reduction and improvements in process performance.
  • Provide training at all levels of the Plant on basic lean tools like 5S, 5 WHY, Fishbone, Kaizen, process map and visual daily management.
  • Support Plant CI initiatives and collaborate with all departments to generate ideas for improvement.
  • Participate in and lead teams/kaizens focused on problem solving and quality issues.
  • Maintain implementation schedules for assigned projects, progress updates as required, and most importantly, provide documentation that demonstrates the direct link between the implementation of the Continuous Improvement culture and improvements in plant processes and operations.
  • Responsible for driving cycle time reduction, waste reduction, yield improvement, productivity, and throughput improvement.
  • Calculate cost reductions and/or analysis to determine optimal problem-solving method.
  • Work cross functionally to document savings and results of continuous improvement activities.
  • Complete time studies to develop production standards for products.
  • Assist in monitoring production equipment (OEE) and interface with maintenance department to identify maintenance, repair and TPM.
  • Use the concepts of continuous improvement and cost reduction in the execution of the work function.
  • Develop process maps and value stream maps and maintain, together with Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineers, the continuous improvement plans for the production areas.
  • Calculation of installed capacities of the processes of the production lines and support areas, preparation of balancing charts, identification of bottlenecks and optimization of the same.
  • Keep the necessary records and reports for the company's improvement ideas.
  • Prepare the necessary monthly reports for the key metrics of the department.
  • Interact With all areas of operational staff and administrative staff (unionized and employees)
  • Define corrective and preventive actions to improve processes.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:  

  • Required - Minimum 3 years’ experience in operations & CI function required.
  • Required - Prior Experience in a Continuous Improvement function.
  • Required - Must have thorough understanding & hands on experience of Problem-solving tools and be able to assist teams thru the process. Advanced problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail and numerical aptitude
  • Required - Proficient with Microsoft Applications: Word, Visio, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Required - Strong understanding of contemporary problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • Preferred - Project management experience.
  • Proven skills to coach and lead teams to fully deliver chartered objectives and projects.
  • Be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills in planning and organizing to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Has the ability to think creatively and proactively propose solutions with attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate problems and ideas with your colleagues’ peers and with management.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across the organization.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to operate independently within a strict time frame.
  • Is a high-energy self-starter with a resilient and capable attitude.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $80,000.00 to $113,000.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
