MRS - Benchmark Engineer

Benchmark Engineer

As a Benchmark Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive benchmark studies and teardown analyses of shock absorber systems and components, including hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems, used in vehicle suspension systems. Your role will be pivotal in evaluating emerging technologies, enhancing product performance, and aligning benchmarks with strategic product goals.

Location: Gliwice, Poland

Work mode: 3/2 HO/week

What will you do

  • Develop & Execute Benchmark Programs: Plan, design, and carry out benchmark testing activities for shock absorber systems.

  • Technical Reporting: Analyze and report findings from benchmark studies to key stakeholders, delivering clear and actionable insights.

  • Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Partner with product management, R&D, and other departments to ensure alignment on the benchmark wishlist and objectives.

  • Benchmark Specifications: Create, update, and refine test specifications to improve accuracy and relevance of benchmarking activities.

  • Data Analysis: Work closely with data analytics teams to dive deeper into benchmark data and derive valuable insights.

  • Supervise Workshop Activities: Lead and guide workshop mechanics in performing teardown and benchmark tasks.

  • Database Management: Maintain and manage the database of benchmark results, ensuring data integrity and easy accessibility for relevant teams.

  • Internal Communication & Reporting: Regularly publish benchmark reports, data, and insights to inform decision-making across the organization.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing enhancements in the benchmarking process, tools, and methodologies to ensure industry-leading performance.

  • Technology Awareness: Stay updated on the latest advancements in shock absorber and suspension technologies.

  • Support Product Development: Leverage benchmark Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to inform and support the development of innovative technologies.

What will make you successful

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably with a focus on hydraulics, mechanical design, or data analytics.

  • Leadership & Initiative: Self-motivated, hands-on leader with the ability to guide and mentor workshop teams by example.

  • Quality & Process Improvement: Strong focus on quality and a passion for continuous improvement in processes and methods.

  • Technical Expertise: Experience with hydraulic and/or electromechanical systems is highly desirable.
