Quality Coordinator

Tenneco Napoleon, OH (Onsite) Full-Time

Essential  Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Inspects first pieces within the first hour of start of shift or changeover.
  2. Inspects last pieces within the last hour of the shift or at the end of a run prior to changeover.
  3. Complete Angola paint checks.
  4. Inspect Reynosa outgoing material for defects.
  5. Inspect service parts prior to shipment.
  6. Verify IPC sheets are filled out and data is in specification or has a sign off if found out of specification.
  7. Will train operators to fill out IPC’s.
  8. Perform hourly audits to the IPC’s and validation in area assigned.
  9. Must be familiar with and use quality control standards and sampling procedures on incoming process, and finished material.
  10. Must be capable of determining phosphate coating thickness or hardness depth or penetration, using laboratory equipment available.
  11. Responds and advises operators on quality issues.
  12. Report any IPC data out of specification to quality and production supervisors.
  13. Stops line if not meeting standards of quality, advises and works with department supervisor and quality department management.
  14. Periodically performs other related duties such as compiling inspection and scrap reports, disposing of material and assisting other inspectors as needed.
  15. Check container identification of current finished material.
  16. Material identification and segregation on floor.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Must be able to read and understand all work instructions including those pertaining to safety and environmental impacts. 
  • Requires basic SAP skills.
  • Have basic knowledge of inspection and production procedures, practices, processes and computer equipment. 
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Must be well organized and a self-starter
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions
  • Must have the ability to identify and solve problems and make logical decisions
  • Must be able to work with precision and a high level of accuracy
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable and able to focus on task at hand
  • Possess strong time management skills
  • Ability to understand technical operating, service or repair manuals
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Working knowledge of gages such as dial calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately

Work & Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

Physical Demands

This position requires manual dexterity to properly and safely manipulate tools and controls.  This position requires frequent walking and standing; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
