Regional Sales and Marketing Director

Purpose:
The Regional Sales & Marketing Director is a “big picture” thinker who is able to find the best path forward using all the often limited available data. They manage the sales staff and provides leadership within the assigned region(s), overseeing and coordinating all sales and marketing activities across branches. They review and analyze regional sales and operational records and reports; using that data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and to identify potential new markets.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops, maintains, and analyzes pricing metrics/tools to drive the optimization of our pricing strategies and tactics to ensure profitable business decisions.
• Collaborates with the Regional Vice President and Branch Managers to develop sales goals for each branch, monitors progress toward those goals, and develops strategies to attract and retain customers.
• Collaborates with the Sales Vice President and others to develop marketing programs to increase sales and/or introduce new products, also assists with the development of sales, marketing and customer facing digital.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement in the region; designs and implements training, strategies, policies, goals, and other resources to maximize sales and marketing staff productivity and morale.
• Schedules and directs regular sales meetings and events to share information, set and revise goals.
• Collaborates with executive leadership to develop Maxim Crane Works’ presence, sales quotas, and marketing strategies in the region.
• Prepares and implements regional sales and marketing budget; monitors and approves expenses.
• Maintains knowledge of market, competition, and best practices and trends in sales techniques and marketing strategies, including digital, within the construction equipment rentals industry.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
Education:
• BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Finance (or related field), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
• 8+ years sales and marketing experience
• 5+ years in a sales management role.
• Prior experience in construction, equipment rentals, or related industry preferred.
Skills/Knowledge
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced organizational skills, attention to detail, and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced supervisory and leadership skills.
• Advanced understanding of or the ability to quickly master the regional market, clients, and competitors.
• Advanced understanding of digital marketing strategies.
• Advanced understanding of or the ability to quickly master technology used in the organization.
Other:
• Must maintain a current driver’s license and Maxim approved driving record. experience
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger; handle or feel; and kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear; push and/or pull; reach; climb; bend and/or stoop. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. The position also requires regular travel throughout the assigned region(s).
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of an office job. Little to no physical effort required; sitting, standing, walking, typing, and answering phones are regular actions performed in this role. Occasional exposure to physical risk, work is normally performed in a typical interior office work environment. However, due to the frequent travel and visits to customer work sites, the employee maybe exposed to outside weather conditions and to exposed moving mechanical parts.
