This position will lead the development and execution of the company’s transfer pricing policies and documentation. The position will provide hands on technical expertise in leading the operational transfer pricing functions of all cross-border activities as well as working in a matrixed organization managing global planning projects. This includes implementing a comprehensive transfer pricing posture and controversy defense. The position may be based in Gurgaon, India and reports directly to the VP of Tax of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain global transfer pricing policies and implement appropriate processes for intercompany pricing and documentation
- Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive tax planning strategy related to transfer pricing while managing tax and transfer pricing risks
- Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s corporate organizational chart, transaction flows, risks, assets, and functions, and advise on the respective intercompany transactions and agreements
- Review proposed transactions in their infancy (including M&A) and advise or propose changes to achieve optimal tax and transfer pricing results
- Coordinate with and assist tax reporting and compliance leads to ensure proper reporting of transactions that occur throughout the year
- Manage tax projects through cross-functional implementation
- Collaborate and partner closely across the global finance team including accounting, legal, treasury and FP&A
Minimum Requirements
Education: Degree in accounting/finance
Experience: 10-15 years of progressively responsible experience with large multi-national companies or BIG 4 experience
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of global transfer pricing rules
- Strong aptitude for working with complex data and strong analytical skills required
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to roll-up sleeves and being a hands-on problem solver
- Strong work ethic and proven ability to manage multiple projects across functions
- Executive presence with excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey tax concepts to executive stakeholders
- Must be able to work with all levels of management, staff and manage external advisors
- Highly motivated, organized self-starter who is flexible in team environment
- Working knowledge of ASC 740 and implications with various planning projects and transfer pricing matters
