LATAM Trade Compliance Manager

Tenneco Celaya, Guanajuato (Onsite) Full-Time

The LATAM Trade Compliance Manager will provide key support in the development and compliance of all the regulations and obligations needed to run the trade and customs operation of all the Tenneco entities in Latin-American region, such as Automotive, special programs, TAX, transfer pricing study which affects or impact on trade and customs; IMMEX and VAT Certification, RECOF, AEO, CTPAT, and other supply chain security programs. This includes a heavy emphasis on teaming with internal and external business partners in gaining access to and sharing key forward-looking information that will be necessary to ensure that companies will mitigate any risk and maximize any opportunity; as well the proper flow of information between different stakeholders, including in being emphasize in tax critical obligations. Trade operations activities may require coordination, management and following with the different plants all over the region, engineering team in charge of production processes, Bill of Materials (BOMs), scrap and waste; notification to the authority of any change related to different registries, programs, or certification, as well logistic and third supplier and broker management and performing data analysis related to import and export operations.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in Trade and customs regulations, experience in any Inventory Control System Annex 24 and 30 regulations, trade compliance and managing attorneys or consultants; if possible, experience managing different plants and units at the same time; experience of handling taxes focused on trade and customs operations; leading people to convey in different projects and goals in parallel.

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in international Trade or equivalent is required.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable with tax considerations of trade programs.
  • Experienced in complying with all trade and customs programs.
  • Experienced in navigating SAT hurdles under tight timelines focused on trade and customs programs.
  • Knowledgeable in customs processes, regulations, resources, tools; as special operations (change of regime, virtual operation, CTMs procedures)
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Demonstrated skills in Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry
  • SAP
  • Experienced in cross-functional collaboration and a customer-focused working environment.
  • Understanding of the Authority´s vision to be compliant with regulation
