Category Manager PC - Maternity Leave Substitution
Job Purpose:
Vendor, Technology or Business Unit, Profit & Loss (P&L), commercial and operational ownership by collaborating with all relevant business functions to deliver best in class systems, tools, processes, financial data integrity and reporting
Responsibilities:
- Execute the Business Unit strategy in full alignment with the agreed strategy to grow profitable market share.
- Lead the vendor pricing strategy through collaboration with profit team to review price elasticity and handle exception management
- Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to provide market reports and analysis, and using this data to identify trends to make sound business proposals
- Support development of direct reports and/or development of divisional assistant category managers (ACM’s)
- Ownership for full product and vendor lifecycle management, including system accuracy, product adoption & creation and contract management
- Hold operational & commercial relationship with vendor key stakeholders
- Identification of commercial & operational process improvements
- Ensure ongoing use of CRM tools to ensure best in class business continuity
- Input into quarterly vendor business planning and execution.
Knowledge Skills and Experience

- Good relationship skills
- Experience in the IT industry with channel and/or vendor at a category management level, ideally from a finance, purchasing or product marketing background
- Experience of SAP R3 and business warehouse
- Strong Microsoft office skills
- Experience of working within a matrix structure
- Proven ability multi task in a fast paced environment
- Business planning experience with strong operational cadence
