Snr Value Stream Manager

Leads a large cross-functional team that includes all team members, team leaders, group leaders, quality, engineering, production planning and continuous improvement. Guides the Value Stream in its support of internal and external customer requirements and is responsible for meeting or exceeding all KPI’s including safety, quality, delivery and cost. Coordinates the development of the people, processes and capabilities within the Focus Factory.

  • Manages all daily activities within the Value Stream.
  • Ensures daily routine is occurring around the Visual Management ECO system reviewing the daily KPI’s and the Continuous Improvement actions.
  • Partners with the site functional managers to ensure employees who have dual reporting lines have clear expectations and roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintains a safe work environment for all employees and visitors, while complying with all

governmental regulations and Tenneco policies for EHS.

  • Creates a culture of zero in the focus factory – zero accidents, zero defects, zero later orders and zero waste.
  • Ensures the quality system for the area is maintained to meet ISO9001 / IATF16949 standards.
  • Ensures products are manufactured on time and according to customer quality requirements to ensure the customer delivery schedule is met.

  • Manages the financial aspects of the Value Stream (AOP, capital, launch, etc.).
  • Champions of continuous improvement activities within the Focus Factory (TBS, CI, Lean and Cost Deployment).
  • Works with the staff to set AOP goals, reviews and maintains a pipeline of continuous improvement projects such that the AOP targets are met or exceeded.
  • Drives the competencies of the Tenneco Business System to develop and execute systems and processes that meet or exceed the Value Stream goals for safety, quality, delivery, cost and material control.
  •  Plans and manages delivery requirements, inventory levels, labor productivity and asset utilization.
  •  Drives safety through the proper use of machines, tools and equipment. Appraises technological developments and investigates feasibility of new equipment and techniques for improvements in manufacturing methods.
  • Ensures quality assurance and engineering control functions are in place to ensure product reliability and conformance to customer and federal specifications in the most effective and economical manner possible.
  • Champions the development of all team members, mentor employee performance and establishes development and improvement plans.
  • Ensures direct reports complete required Value Stream and TBS MO training per training plan.
  • Prepares and reports out regularly in Value Stream and plant wide communication meetings.
  • Works with new product development to launch programs into production.

    Education / Experience / Skills:

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors’ Degree, preferably in an Engineering or Business discipline.
  • 5+ years’ of experience.
  • 3+ years’ of experience supervising manufacturing operations in a high volume, high mix environment.
  • Experience managing multiple competing projects and priorities.
  • Experience managing manufacturing and workforce budgets.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $94,000.00 to $187,000.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
