SR SPECIALIST - ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE Job Details | The Venetian Las Vegas

Venetian Resort Las Vegas Las Vegas, NV (Onsite) Full-Time

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Sr Specialist – Accounts Receivable is to prepare and manage convention/group invoices and other key financial aspects for Large Groups. This position is the single point and first customer engagement for all pre-arrival financial and billing requirements for large groups. This individual also maintains and reconciles Sales revenue reports along with attending to Sales vendor requests, credit references, Marketing accounts.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for collecting pre-arrival funds in accordance with contractual due dates.
  • Provide customers with accurate and timely invoices, statements and schedules that are in accordance with departmental deadlines and standards.
  • Research and resolve client inquiries while maintaining positive and professional client relations.
  • Understand key elements within contracts including cancellations, attrition, and calculation of discounts, comps and rebates. 
  • Process daily bank deposits and post all payments to customer accounts.
  • Attend to hotel vendor/supplier registration requests and credit references.
  • Prepare and maintain key Accounts Receivable reports on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for basic understanding of key Accounts Receivable systems.
  • Attend Pre-Convention and Bill Reviews when necessary.
  • Process Day End/Month End closing of Accounts Receivable including supporting journal entries.
  • Daily Credit Card Reconciliations.
  • Miscellaneous projects as requested by Management.
  • Serve as backup to Specialist I and II – AR Account Specialist positions.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 1 year of experience in accounting, 2 years preferred.  
  • Demonstrated experience in Account Reconciliations, Preparing and recording journal entries, Understanding Contracts and Invoice Preparation is preferred. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in system Queries preferred.
  • Must be able to apply critical thinking, multi-task and have ability to adapt to changes in high volume environment.
  • Have Interpersonal skills with focused attention to customer needs, both internal and external, to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to:

  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
