VAT Consultant

Tenneco București, București (Onsite) Full-Time

This is a great opportunity to join Tenneco’s Indirect Tax Team as a VAT Consultant in our office in Bucharest.

What you will do:

  • VAT compliance: preparing and reviewing monthly VAT declarations based on the agreed processes for some of the Romanian businesses of the group, including preparing accounting notes and reconciliation.

  • Assist with on-site reviews and VAT health-checks to identify VAT weaknesses and opportunities for EMEA Tenneco entities, under the supervision of the Indirect Tax Managers;

  • SAF-T reporting: testing, reconciliation, and analysis of SAF-T file

  • Support during VAT audits for local and regional businesses of Tenneco Group;

  • Foreign VAT compliance: preparing and reviewing monthly/quarterly VAT declarations based on the agreed processes for some of other EU businesses of the group;
  • Review and correct from a VAT point of view AP / AR postings where necessary;

  • Assists with the preparation of VAT trainings, indirect tax policies and procedures;

  • Work closely with other finance departments, supply chain, purchasing, legal, where needed;

  • Support with preparing the companies to comply with future reporting requirements: e.g. SAF-T, e-invoicing, real-time reporting, etc.

  • Tracking and communicating internally important changes in indirect tax laws and regulations within EMEA.

    • What will make you successfuul:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics or law

  • Good level understanding of accounting rules

  • Good understanding of local / European VAT provisions

  • Good Microsoft Office skills

  • Must be fluent in English (other European languages a plus)

  • Communication skills, flexibility, and can-do approach

  • Previous VAT experience inhouse or in an advisory company is a plus

  • SAP experience is a plus.
