This position will report within the DRiV business group. DRiV is Tenneco’s aftermarket product solutions group, with a mission to deliver advancements that help people get the most out of every vehicle, every ride, every race, and every journey. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Setup, run, and monitor test equipment and report test results to product engineers.
- Coordinate and prioritize workflow through the test lab.
- Develop fixtures / layouts necessary for testing and procure through internal machine shop or external supplier.
- Participate in design review meetings with product engineers and provide feedback on testing.
- Participate in 5S program and maintain cleanliness in work area
- Develop or revise test procedures.
- Assist in any lab equipment purchase or upgrades
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Trade / technical school certifications or associate’s degree in discipline relevant to position.
- Bachelor’s degree in discipline relevant to position is preferred.
Experience:
- Prefer working knowledge of MTS test equipment, or similar testing equipment. Knowledge of hydraulic systems and basic electrical systems. Familiarity with automotive steering and suspension systems. Ability to use basic measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.
- 1-5 years’ experience working in lab testing environment. Knowledge of automotive repair of steering and suspension systems; Preferred
Skills:
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to work and communicate with engineers and management, capacity to manage diverse workloads from multiple sources, keen sense to meet commitments and maintain professional demeanor; Preferred.
- Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office 365, specifically Word and Excel. Attention to detail, self-motivated, ability to understand concepts and problem solve on your own. Knowledge ISO quality systems.
