Crane Electrician

Arconic Lancaster, PA (Onsite) Full-Time

All About Arconic:  Arconic is currently in search of Crane Electricians to join our Global Rolled Products Operations business unit in Lancaster, PA.  Arconic creates breakthrough products that shape industries. Arconic Lancaster has been a leader in the aluminum manufacturing industry and a strong community partner for over 75 years.  At our 1.3 million square-foot plant, we produce a variety of products--from painted aluminum sheet to blanked aluminum products. What we produce here is found in a wide assortment of end products, such as truck cabs, cookware, and construction materials. We also produce brazing sheet used by auto manufacturers to make evaporator and condenser components.  Over 400 customers use our product for a variety of consumer goods.

All About Maintenance:  As an employee working in our maintenance department, you help support our production departments by maintaining and servicing the equipment and machines they use in their day-to-day.  You could end up in either Cast House/Plate Maintenance, Cold Mill/Mill Finish Maintenance, or Hot Mill Maintenance departments.

This position is considered safety sensitive.  

Key Responsibilities of Crane Electricians:

  • Provide technical support for in-house maintenance personnel and outside contractors for all crane related work performed.
  • Learn and gain thorough knowledge of crane repair, maintenance, and inspection requirements as per OSHA, ANSI, ASME and Arconic. 
  • Develop and maintain all documentation as required by OSHA, ASME, ANSI, and Arconic.
  • Complete all plant wide crane and grab PMs & maintain PM compliance by filing all completed/documented PM files for internal and OSHA audits as assigned. 
  • Maintain Arconic Lancaster crane safety program.
  • Assist all OSHA required frequent and periodic inspections for cranes and lifting devices.
  • Participate in the implementation and use of crane related standard operating and safe job procedures.
  • Participate in identifying opportunities for crane training for on shift maintenance teams.
  • Participate in continuous crane training as directed.
  • Must be willing to work off shift/flex schedule and be on call as needed.

Internal Candidates:  This position is graded between a 4-7.  Note:  Candidates awarded this position may have a longer release date than normal.

Basic Qualifications:

Ability to successfully pass the Electrical Accelerated Assessment Test.

2 years heavy industrial electrical maintenance experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and installing: 480 volt – 3 phase systems. AC/DC motors and drives, motor control centers, panel wiring, lighting fixtures, conduct, pollution control and lubrication systems; OR

Advanced Technical Degree (associate in Specialized Trade in Electrical or Electronics field) or completion of degree by start date; OR

2 years Military experience in an electrical/electronic field (Provide copy of official MOS/AFSC with resume)

Ability to operate a personal computer; using required department programs

Good Communication skills; verbal and written and the ability to deal effectively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

3 or more years heavy industrial electrical maintenance experience
