Regional Corporate Security Manager - India, Hong Kong & Australia

TD SYNNEX Mumbai, Maharashtra (Onsite) Full-Time

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Regional Corporate Security Manager role is to ensure the safety and security of TD SYNNEX’s assets, co-workers, and operations across India, Hong Kong, and Australia. This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures that align with global standards and regional regulatory requirements. The manager will oversee physical security systems, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risks and respond to security incidents effectively. Additionally, this role involves training and supporting staff in security and business continuity practices, managing security personnel, and maintaining compliance with safety and security standards. Through proactive measures and continuous improvement, the Regional Corporate Security Manager will safeguard the company's physical and reputational assets, ensuring a secure and resilient operational environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Training and Awareness: Conduct regular training sessions for employees on safety, security, and business continuity to enhance awareness and preparedness.
  • Risk Mitigation: Implement and ensure appropriate risk mitigation measures to reduce exposure to security risks, adhering to the ‘As Low As Reasonably Practicable’ (ALARP) principle. Develop and enforce security policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Physical Protection Systems: Manage all aspects of physical protection systems, including the installation, implementation, and enhancement of security equipment, in collaboration with the Regional Corporate Security Project Manager.
  • Security Standards Compliance: Implement and maintain TD SYNNEX’s Worldwide Minimum Security Standards across regional entities, aiming for successful TAPA FSR certification of Logistics Centers and ensuring annual re-certification.
  • Safety Management System: Develop and maintain a Safety Management System that meets compliance requirements of all applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain direct relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as Inventory Control, Customer Service teams, and Carrier Security personnel, to collaboratively reduce LIT figures and produce reports and recommendations for Corporate Security and Regional Management.
  • Audits and Assessments: Participate in or conduct annual security/safety audits and risk/threat assessments at Logistics Centers, Sales Offices, VMI’s, and carrier hubs within the designated region.
  • Analytical Support: Perform analytical deep dives to identify root causes of loss, risks, security breaches, and major incidents, and determine additional mitigations and corrective actions.
  • Training and Partnership: Train, advise, and collaborate with other functions to identify, manage, and mitigate risks through robust standards and processes.
  • Emergency Response: Be available for travel on short notice within the APJ region to address urgent security, safety, or business continuity needs.
  • Personnel Management: Manage and supervise security personnel.
  • Shrinkage Investigation: Investigate warehouse shrink beyond acceptable ranges, propose action plans to reduce shrinkage, and implement programs to prevent inventory and controllable losses.
  • Criminal Activity Investigation: Conduct investigations using all available resources to identify and resolve criminal activity in assigned locations.
  • Internal Investigations: Provide leadership and coordination for internal investigations affecting various departments, including Human Resources, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, and Operational Departments, as well as liaise with Law Enforcement authorities.
  • Professional Networking: Develop a local network of professional security contacts within the logistics environment to enhance TD SYNNEX’s business and security intelligence profiles.
  • Industry Participation: Participate in various safety or security-related organizations to stay current on safety and security issues.
  • Support for EHS Staff: Support other Environmental, Health & Safety staff as assigned.
  • Business Continuity Planning: Coordinate Business Continuity & Recovery Planning in close cooperation with the Regional Business Continuity Manager APJ and/or the Global Senior Director of Business Continuity.
  • SOX Compliance: Ensure fulfillment of internal controls per Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements related to the area.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director Corporate Security EMEA & APJ.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Corporate Security Expertise: High integrity and leadership with extensive professional experience in Corporate Security, particularly in Supply Chain security.
  • Safety and Physical Security Knowledge: Robust understanding and solid experience with safety and physical security principles and their impact on mitigating threats and risks to people, assets, and information.
  • Flexibility and Independence: Willingness to operate outside routine working hours and independently monitor and respond to regional incidents.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to present and execute actionable findings.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Talent for building effective partnerships and working collaboratively across different functions.
  • Risk Management: Solid understanding of physical and reputational risk factors and methods for mitigating such risks.
  • Team-oriented Approach: A team-oriented mindset with a solution-focused approach.
  • Negotiation and Conflict Resolution: Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers.
  • Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills, with the capacity for strategic thinking while managing operational tasks and resilience under stress and pressure.
  • Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM): Skills in ESRM and threat analysis, with demonstrated proficiency in writing and reviewing security procedures and plans.
  • Project Management: Experience managing subordinates, subcontractors, or vendor security integrators, including all aspects of project planning, scheduling, and subcontract scope definition and management.
  • Discretion and Confidentiality: An acute sense of discretion and ability to manage highly confidential information.
  • Fiscal Discipline: Strong fiscal discipline with the ability to expertly manage large budgets.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Highly adaptable and flexible.
  • Positive Attitude: A positive attitude and a hunger for learning and growth.
  • Creativity and Entrepreneurship: Creative and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Professional Certifications: Preferred certifications in safety, security, and organizational resilience.
  • Independent Judgment: Sound judgment and ability to work independently with minimal supervisory oversight.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in regional native language(s) and advanced English language skills.
  • Interview and Interrogation Techniques: Knowledge of interview and interrogation techniques, proficiency in conducting in-person and telephone interviews, and the ability to elicit and document relevant details.
  • Technical Skills: Highly proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
