Accountant

Position Summary

This position is a team participant responsible for several critical activities including BOS information, tax packages, EVA calculations, Key Stats, etc. Activities performed offer broad exposure to the business and further develops critical analytical skills.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Capital Acquisitions Paperwork, including request for funds, routing of approval page for signoff, preparation of Capital Appropriation Request, attachment to approval request, and final setup and monitoring of project in SAP.
  • Capitalize completed projects.
  • Prepare paperwork for asset transfers and disposals and maintain SAP asset module.
  • Prepare and submit monthly capital and customer tooling forecasts.
  • Complete scrap reconciliation monthly
  • Track customer tooling accounts and ensure billing is timely per company policy.
  • Backup for standard cost system
  • Maintain the Accounts Payable System. This includes invoice processing and addressing vendor inquiries.
  • Prepare and post month end journal entries which include payroll entries, various accruals, PPV calculations and pension.
  • Prepare miscellaneous bank deposits and journalize.
  • Clear Accounts Payable GRIR discrepancies
  • Analysis and reconciliation of Balance Sheet ledger accounts which includes payroll bank account, fixed assets, prepaids and miscellaneous receivables.  
  • Prepare and submit Canadian tax packages.
  • Submit monthly, quarterly, and yearly Stats Canada information.
  • Provide payroll with employee muffler reimbursement purchases.

Minimum Qualifications

  •              Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or accounting
  •              3 - 5 years of experience with finance, accounting, business
  •              Excellent leadership and teaming skills
  •              Project management skills and outstanding communication skills
  •              Excellent PC skills: spreadsheet, word processing, graphic presentations
    •        Knowledge of SAP (ERP System)
