ABOUT THE JOB - INSIDE SALES MANAGER
Location: Houston, Westplain Campus
Work Environment: Monday – Friday
Work Schedule/Hours: Normal Business Hours
Pay Range: 95k-105k depending on experience
JOB SUMMARY
You will support Copes Vulcan's sales and channel partners by following up on inquiries and quotes, maintaining a forward-looking project list, and assisting with all sales initiatives, in line with company policies and practices. This role involves working closely with internal and external customers and representatives, acting as a liaison between operational and support departments to exceed customer expectations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with internal resources to proactively respond to customers and representatives.
- Maintain records of representatives' quotations and update all stakeholders, ensuring the quote log is current.
- Work closely with customers and internal departments to promptly resolve issues related to application, design, manufacturing, and product quality.
- Handle correspondences and inquiries with internal/external customers and representatives regarding:
- Open inquiries/quotes
- Strategic initiatives
- Customer issues
- Status of outstanding requests
- Cooperate with regional managers on quotations, inquiries, and all phases of new business development.
- Maintain proper records to facilitate the weekly order forecast.
- Assist representatives and their personnel with policies and procedures.
- Support all sales initiatives.
- Manage and track the sales department's efforts on quotation activity, profitability levels, pricing trends, and quotation success ratios. Maintain and support the Sales Team’s inquiry and quote log.
- Coordinate the resolution of customer problems related to products or services.
- Pursue aftermarket parts and services opportunities for Copes Vulcan valves, desuperheaters, and steam conditioning products to support Aftermarket Operations.
- Follow up on all open inquiries with internal sales managers and customers.
- Disseminate vital information to the field sales organization and representatives.
- Maintain a forward-looking project list.
- Teamwork is essential ensuring collaboration and effective communication across departments to exceed customer expectations and achieve company goals
- Maintain required metrics.
- Perform other related duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- A strong commercial focus.
- Familiarity with successful business process improvement, margin improvement and cost reduction programs.
- The ability to:
- Communicate effectively in both spoken and written English.
- Interact comfortably with upper management.
- Work well in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
- Passion and a great attitude.
- Some travel may be required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math or Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and ERP systems (ideally SAP).
- Experience leading or directly participating in continuous improvement efforts; Lean Six Sigma certifications/belts are a plus.
- Experience with Control valves is a plus
