Plant Applications Owner
The Automotive Plant Applications Owner is a pivotal role within the manufacturing plant, responsible for the comprehensive management of all software applications that support plant operations. This includes overseeing the entire lifecycle of applications, from initial deployment and configuration to ongoing maintenance and upgrades. The Applications Owner ensures that all applications are functioning optimally, meeting the specific needs of the plant, and adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities

Application Management:
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of plant applications.
- Ensure applications are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage application upgrades and patches to minimize downtime and disruption.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work with plant management and department heads to understand application needs and requirements.
- Liaise with software vendors and service providers to ensure timely support and issue resolution.
- Facilitate training sessions for end-users to maximize application utilization and efficiency.

Project Management:
- Lead and manage application-related projects, including new implementations and system integrations.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess project success and identify areas for improvement.

Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor application performance and usage to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Implement and maintain application performance metrics and reporting systems.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and security within applications.

Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within plant operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application functionality and user experience.
What will make you successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application management, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), and other plant-specific applications (like Rockwell, wonderware, Ignition, Label makers, logistics). Knowledge of database management and software development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), or similar are a plus.
Working Conditions:
- This role may require occasional travel to other plant locations or vendor sites.
