Order Pursuit Manager

Arconic Harrisonburg, VA (Onsite) Full-Time

Arconic is currently in search of an Order Pursuit Manager to join our Kawneer business in Harrisonburg, VA. 

Primary Purpose of the Job

Under the direction of the Frontend Business Manager, the Order Pursuit Manager will be responsible for leading employees, securing the top-line revenue and bottom-line margin for location, and drawing business to the company. The OPM overseas the Estimating, Inside Sales, and Design team as well as partners with the Commercial Sales Team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the commercial sales teams in the Central and Eastern Regions for the bid and selection process.
  • Balance relationship between the Front-end team and the Commercial Sales organization.
  • Accountable for delivering estimating and closing plans (volume and margin).
  • Bid volume per annual plan and close around 35% of bid projects.
  • Obtain margins at or above annual plan levels for quoted projects.
  • Manage and balance capacity and demand in estimating and application engineering teams.
  • Manage pricing strategies and for growing the business with high margin projects, especially within the more profitable major projects market segment.
  • Responsible for development and execution strategy for the order obtainment plan.
  • Member of the Lead Team and responsible for developing strategy, executing against the current plan, and developing talent within the organization.
  • Lead the daily management process for the location’s order pursuit team.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify market trends and participate in weekly Order Pursuit calls.
  • Provide training, tools, and resources to grow talent and develop specialized technical skills.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized estimating tools and applications.

Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education

  • Proven exceptional customer service skills including prompt response, conflict resolution, and documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
  • Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to use MS Office and JD Edwards.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Problem solving skills especially in competitor analysis and comparative project analysis.
  • Understand of margin and profitability.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment in a professional office setting.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Architectural, Commercial Construction or a related field.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in commercial architecture, construction, product sales or Front-end Services Management.
  • 10 years of experience in multiple disciplines in the industry (drafting, estimating, design and project management).
  • Knowledge or architectural systems, preferably Kawneer products.
  • Experience building a team with a focus on consultative sales and quote/bid proposal follow-up.
