This role is your opportunity to support TechCrunch’s world-class writers while crafting standout video content that fuels growth, engages audiences, and enhances our brand.

About You:

  • You’re a hands-on expert at every stage of video production, from ideation to final cut. Whether flying solo or leading a small team, you deliver polished, high-quality content.

  • You understand the art of grabbing and keeping attention, with a flair for crafting a distinctive video brand voice that aligns with TechCrunch’s authoritative yet cheeky tone.

  • You're based in the San Francisco Bay Area

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a Winning Strategy: Create a comprehensive video strategy that outlines how video supports our audience, strengthens our brand, and drives growth across all platforms.

  • Know the Audience: Use insights to develop content that resonates with TechCrunch’s audience, ensuring a consistent and engaging voice across our site and channels.

  • Produce Outstanding Video Content: Oversee the production process from start to finish, including directing, editing, and collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality videos aligned with channel goals.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with editorial, audience development, sales, events, and product teams to align video efforts with broader marketing and revenue objectives.

What You Bring:

  • Production Expertise: 8+ years of video production experience with a proven ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute impactful video content.

  • Leadership Skills: 3+ years of team leadership experience, with a supportive and empathetic approach that fosters great work.

  • Creative Vision: A portfolio demonstrating innovative video content that captivates and informs audiences.

  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in video editing, post-production, videography, lighting, and all technical aspects of video creation.

  • Platform Savvy: Deep understanding of the online video landscape, including experience with major platforms like TikTok and YouTube.

  • Self-Starter Mentality: A proactive and resourceful approach to tackling challenges and seizing opportunities.

The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
