Pursuit Identification Specialist

Arconic Harrisonburg, VA (Onsite) Full-Time

Arconic is currently in search of a Pursuit Identification Specialist to join our Kawneer business in Harrisonburg, VA. This position will work with major projects in the Collaborative division.

Under the general direction of the Order Pursuit Lead, the Pursuit Identification Specialist will be the marketplace expert for North America and identify pursuit opportunities for the Collaborative sales team.  This position will also document key customers and influencers potentially involved in the identified pursuit.  This position sets the stage for team success.   This is an entry level role for the team and training is provided.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • General:
    • Maintain business knowledge of the key marketplaces
    • Identify opportunities for potential pursuit
  • Identify, propose, and review annually the agreed upon marketplaces for monitoring
    • Sales Rep conversation
    • BizJournals
    • Dodge
    • Construction Dive
    • Other publications / web resources
  • Document and maintain pursuit information
    • Enter in tracking sheet to move/monitor the pursuit thru the Collaborative process
    • Enter in Salesforce for details related to the specific pursuit
    • Continuously update project pursuit information as it becomes available / is identified
  • Hold a weekly meeting to review identified opportunities with the team
    • Sales Reps
    • Order Pursuit Lead
    • Business Manager
    • Business Director
  • Understand the Collaborative deliverable process, realizing that early project identification is key
  • Engage sales reps, pursuit peers and leadership to answer questions and/or resolve any problems
  • Timely and accurately respond to queries
  • Use time management skills to monitor all identified marketplaces
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives

 
The ideal candidate will:

  • Self-starter
  • Quality communicator with proficient documentation skills
  • Comfortable presenting to a group
  • Good with “quid-pro-quo” project discussions
  • Enjoys being part of a team
  • Fearless in quest for information / knowledge
  • Knows Microsoft software with Salesforce familiarity desired
  • Possess knowledge of Kawneer product as plus
  • Possess a curious / inquiring attitude
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience, with preference for the customer service or construction industry
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer service, sales, or the construction industry.
