The Marketing Intern position is designed to enhance a student's working knowledge of marketing activities and related operations. The Marketing Intern will be a key member of the marketing team, helping develop communication plans and executing strategies across the full scope of marketing touchpoints. This role will also support internal communications initiatives and contribute to social media content development to strengthen brand awareness and employee engagement. The schedule for this role is flexible and can be full-time or part-time, within normal business hours at Maxim Crane Works.
Responsibilities + Essential Functions:
• Project Ownership: Lead the thinking and make recommendations on strategy, plan development, and execution across marketing touchpoints. Specific projects TBD based on business timing/needs. Example projects include social media planning, new media opportunities, campaign and content development and analysis, event planning, and internal communications support.
• Social Media Content Development: Assist in creating, scheduling, and managing social media content across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. Monitor engagement metrics and contribute ideas to enhance Maxim Crane's online presence.
• Internal Communications: Support the development of internal communication materials, including newsletters, employee announcements, and content for internal platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and employee engagement.
• Digital Audits: Review and report on Maxim Crane’s presence across different digital platforms, e.g., Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Maxim Crane’s website. Provide recommendations based on audit findings and work with the marketing team to implement updates.
• Competitive Analysis: Lead weekly competitive analyses summarizing competitor programs and potential threats. Provide strategic recommendations based on competitive activity.
• Ideas: Continuously share new and innovative ideas that Maxim could consider for marketing and communications initiatives.
• Miscellaneous: Collaborate with the marketing team on various projects as needed. The intern should be adaptable and ready to support evolving business priorities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
• Strong social media management skills (familiarity with platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook preferred)
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Professional attitude, motivation, integrity, and the ability to handle confidential information
Education and Work Experience:
• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university
• Major: Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field of study
