Öhlins Racing is looking for a Project & Commodity Buyer

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled commodity buyer to join our procurement team. You will be part of developing products and business of creating the future suspension systems and thereby helping our customers ride faster, safer and in more comfort. The global purchasing and SQA team consist of 20+ staff in four countries and we now need to strengthen our purchasing team in Upplands Väsby that consists of five commodity purchasers. Main responsibilities

As project and commodity purchaser you will have a large commercial responsibility in creating new and improved business cases, where your technical and commercial knowledge has direct impact. You will be responsible for managing your assigned commodities to meet specific targets and expanding our supplier network. Additionally, you will work cross-functionally and represent the purchasing team in designated development projects, overseeing overall material costs and coordinating tasks within the purchasing team.

A selection of responsibilities in short:

  • Source and chose new or existing suppliers to both development and application projects.
  • Together with supplier, SQA and R&D chose the optimal sourcing & manufacturing method.
  • Strong focus on cost savings; negotiation, VA/VE, resourcing, MOQ, lead-time, etc.
  • Supplier development towards specified requirements and sustainability.
  • Supplier Management; escalated supply chain issues, evaluations, etc.

The position will be located at the head office in Upplands Väsby & hybrid work is possible to certain extent. Travelling is to be expected.

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced commodity purchaser either within metal components, electronics and/or electromechanical components. As the vast majority of our components are built to print, it is essential that you possess an understanding of different manufacturing methods for and cost drivers, based on drawings and specifications.

We expect that you have a degree pf B.Sc. or M.Sc. or vocational university within technical, finance or purchasing. You should have at least 5 years of purchasing experience and knowledge from the automotive or manufacturing industry is meriting. You must speak Swedish and English fluently.
