Field Service Technician Job Details | Celeros Flow Technology
ABOUT THE JOB - Field Service Technician
Location: Houston, Westplain Campus
Work Environment: Monday – Friday
Work Schedule/Hours: 40 hours plus overtime when needed. 80% travel - can include local, out of state, offshore.
Pay Range: $35 - $40 per hour based on experience
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for teardown, repair, new assembly, calibration, and diagnostics of Celeros FT Copes Vulcan and M&J brand of control valves and instruments. Able to complete associated paperwork, valve diagnostics using digital control technology and the associated instrumentation in both field service and workshop environments.
Responsibilities includes providing field service, workshop repair, product accountability, customer training and building and maintaining a mutual beneficial relationship with product users.
Must be able to communicate with customers in the field and relay information back to product engineers when evaluating and recommending replacement parts and scheduling of jobs.
Will to certify and travel to offshore locations and other international areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Execute start-up operations of newly-installed or repaired equipment, checking proper operation and adjusting to factory specifications
- Trouble-shoot equipment, identifying electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic malfunctions using voltmeters, amp meters, insulation testers, pressure gauges, etc.
- Evaluate malfunctions and initiate corrective action
- Supervise, assist, or instruct customer personnel in performing related corrective action in proper use and operation of the equipment to obtain maximum efficiency and safety
- Prepare detailed written trip reports identifying the purpose, corrective actions, and the results of the corrective action of the field service visit
- Inspection of supplied parts, assemblies and finished products
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blue prints
- Work with engineering manufacturing / assembly department on Celeros Flow CV and M&J brand products
- Perform other similar related duties as assigned or directed to necessitate customer product satisfaction
- Documentation of repair / testing / assembly activities – cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, labor hours, etc.
- Participation in field service calls which may require domestic and international overnight stays
- Responsible for personal safety and those around maintaining excellent housekeeping standards adhering to all safety, quality, and company rules and regulations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
HS Diploma or GED (Technical Associate degree preferred) or similair
Instrumentation background (service industry background a plus)
Experience in the process, control, power, and nuclear valve industry
Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment & process related problems
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer relations skills are a must
Computer experience strongly preferred, should be efficient in Microsoft Word and have high level of organizational skills
Clear valid state issued driver license
OTHER
Candidate must be able to pass a D.O.T. and Non-D.O.T. drug and alcohol screening, Subject to random testing, have a valid driver’s license and able to pass a background check.
