Systems Engineer 1

TD SYNNEX USA (Remote) Full-Time

About the Role:

DLT is looking for a well-rounded systems engineer with experience in cloud, backup, storage, and operating systems to Confirmed Stateside Support customers in a post-sales technical support capacity. In this engineering role, you will provide an excellent customer support experience via critical Tier 1 support to the DLT 7/24/365 enterprise customers for various technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Red Hat and Veritas. Given the nature of DLT's support model, you will not be expected to provide “break-fix” pay-per-incident support. Instead, you will provide an unlimited number of support incidents. This support includes advanced troubleshooting over the phone and online, the use of sophisticated tools, analysis of logs, and documenting issues and solutions. You will become the Subject Matter Expert for Amazon Web Services, Red Hat, and Veritas technologies.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as Tier 1 Support Engineer for various vendor products

  • Advocate customer requests, troubleshoot and resolve complex, critical and sensitive support issues as well as participate in conference calls when necessary to provide next level issue resolution for customers

  • Verify and duplicate customer issues in the DLT Operations Center Lab

  • Prioritize technical issues, define and track bugs and offer creative solutions

  • Research a wide variety of technical subjects including interoperability with operating systems and third-party applications

  • Document the solutions to known issues through knowledgebase documents and product training

  • Provide a high, detailed level of technical assistance to ensure that our customers get the most out of our products

  • Learn and use groundbreaking technologies

  • Other job related duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • Technology-related Bachelor's Degree OR 5+ years of relevant technical work experience

  • Familiarity, knowledge, and experience in the following:

  • Strong customer focus

  • Systems Administration and Enterprise Architecture

  • Strong multi-tasking skills

  • Compute, Database, and Storage

  • Networking and Security

  • Virtualization and Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service

  • Backup, Disaster Recovery, and Continuity of Operations

  • Infrastructure-as-Code(IaC), scripting, automation, and workflows

  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks to meet project deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Can be added, and these will NOT be minimum qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability communicate effectively across internal and external organizations

  • Superior customer service skills and ability to manage conflict

  • Ability to take complex technical topics and explain them to non-technical audiences

  • Strong analytical skills (i.e. requirements capture)

  • Exposure to Cloud computing, and security concepts / best practices

  • Familiarity with IPsec, VPN, Load Balancing, Iperf, MTR, Routing Protocols, SSH, Network Monitoring  Troubleshooting tools

  • Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications

  • Scripting or programming/scripting experience in languages (Java, Python, Bash, and/or JavaScript)

  • One or more of the following certifications:

AWS Certified Architect – Associate

AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate

AWS Certified Developer – Associate

Red Hat Certified System Administrator
