We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Senior Engineering Manager - Commerce to lead our commerce utilities and affiliate revenue efforts. This role will focus on enhancing user value through commerce initiatives, creating exceptional experiences for brands, and managing the Yahoo Mail browser extension. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering manager background, with experience in e-commerce, AdTech and affiliate, and a passion for driving user engagement and revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead engineers in the team, provide leadership and direction

• Design technical solutions for complex problems and lead the implementation

• Lead and coordinate engineers activities; Be responsible for their delivery and meeting goals

• Review their work for quality and provide mentoring, coaching

• Plan, prioritize the work for the team quarterly and execute them based on sprint schedule

• Accountable for hiring performance management of engineers.

• Drive and own the delivery and impact of the engineering team towards business goals.

• Influence partner teams and deliver results meeting the objectives of the organization

• Support establishment and delivering web scale solutions on organizational priorities; like  Commerce Utilities Management; Affiliate Marketing and Brand Experience.

Must Have:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field with strong understanding of the fundamentals including Data Structures, Algorithms, OS and Networking 

• 10+ years experience in software development with Java and/or C++

• 8+ years experience in owning, designing components of web scale system (e.g Yahoo Mail)

• 3+ Engineering Management experience.

• Demonstrated problem solving skills and taking initiatives

• Understanding of agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and agile engineering practices like Test-Driven Development, Continuous integration, and other extreme programming practices

• Proficient in a Unix/Linux environment, HTTP, Web services, and Restful API

• Ability to manage and work with diverse groups of people, geographically dispersed across the world

• Good communicator, enjoys helping people, remains friendly and constructive under stress

Preferred:

• Experience with AI/ML Recommendation & Ranking System.

• Prior experience with the AdTech and batch processing systems would be a great add on.

The compensation for this position ranges from $143,625.00 - $299,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
