Director Investment Finance

Purpose:

The Investment Finance team is looking for a Director who will be responsible for overseeing investment analysis, quarterly/annual investment disclosures, and continual process improvements and automation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of investment types, including relevant GAAP and Statutory reporting requirements for investments.

Accountabilities:

• Responsible for investment reporting on a GAAP and Statutory basis, with a focus on management view results
• Prepare quarterly and annual 10Q/10K investment disclosures
• Support the financial analysis of operating results, balance sheets, and other key performance indicators on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Collaborate with Investor Relations to prepare for external presentations and respond to investor/analyst questions
• Conduct deep dive analysis of specific targeted areas to understand and explain investment results to management
• Maintain process documentation and support audit requests
• Support strategic initiatives and transactions impacting investment reporting
• Assists in data capabilities and process enhancements
• Assists in providing management with recommendations to enhance financial results based on financial analysis
• Support transformation within the Investment Finance area enhancing investment reporting capabilities
• Build and foster close relationships with Apollo, ISG, Investment Accounting, Financial Reporting, Investor Relations, and IT
• Develop and lead a team of professionals by setting expectations, mentoring and coaching, driving results, sharing strategic direction, collaborating, and communicating effectively

Qualifications and Experience:

• 7+ years of directly related technical/professional experience
• 4+ years of people leadership experience
• Advanced knowledge with Excel
• Knowledge of investment types and related reporting
• Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory financial accounting requirements
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and process improvement experience
• A strong detailed orientation while being able to see how the details impact the larger strategic objectives of the company
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior management and stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
