Payroll/HR Administrator

Arconic Lancaster, PA (Onsite) Full-Time

Arconic is currently in search of Payroll/HR Administrator to join our Global Rolled Products Team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

The Payroll/HR Administrator is an integral member of the Human Resources team and is responsible for supporting the Lancaster Plant through location initiatives, processes and projects and in support of the HR Business Partners/Manager. This person will work primarily with the HR Team and interact with employees and leaders across Lancaster to effectively facilitate processes and projects related to their key accountabilities. 

The Payroll/HR Administrator shall endeavor to remain generally abreast of local, state and federal laws, rules, regulations and statutes governing equal employment opportunity practices as well as Arconic corporate and local policies and practices.

The Payroll/HR Administrator will provide back up support to other members of the HR team to ensure consistent coverage and customer service is provided at all times.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Responsible or back up for facilitation and/or support of plant wide programs and processes that may include but not limited to 
    • Weekly Hourly payroll coordination which requires strong understanding of payroll/timekeeping system, other HR systems and company policies and the interplay between them to deliver accurate payroll.
    • Expected to become the location subject matter expert in Workbrain (timekeeping system)
    • Collaboration with corporate payroll and 3rd party payroll processing on payroll questions, corrections, improvements. 
    • General administrative support of HR Department (and others departments by exception) which includes purchase orders, employee file management, internal and self audits, ordering supplies
    • Manage applicant and candidate flow of hourly candidates including applicant tracking system (ATS) management, job boards, candidate scheduling. 
    • Facilitate post offer process for hourly employees including completion of required documentation per company and/or state/federal requirements such as background checks, I9s & file management
    • Support plant communications through bulletin board postings, closed TV and other communication systems
    • Accurate data entry and reports for HRIS system for hires, separations, promotions, transfers and other employee movements
    • Support of community events, job fairs, planning of employee events and support of Employee Resources Groups
    • Other projects may include but not limited to: Hourly Job Evaluation process, Corporate Engagement survey, response to unemployment compensation inquires

Skills Necessary for Success

  • Strong data entry accuracy and detail oriented
  • Ability to utilize HRIS, ATS and other systems
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills especially excel
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with focus on customer service
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting proficiency

Basic Qualifications 

  • 1 year of professional, adminstrative work experience
  • 1 year experience with an HRIS, Applicant tracking systems or other computer based database
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university
  • 3 years of experience in a large manufacturing setting
  • Prior Payroll experience, especially in 24/7 environement
  • Prior administrative support of an HR Function
  • Prior experience with project responsibility across multiple groups or departments
