Sr. Lifecycle Marketing Automation Specialist I

Position Overview

The Lifecycle Marketing Automation Manager is responsible for developing and executing automated marketing strategies that maximize customer engagement, satisfaction, and revenue throughout the entire customer journey. This position requires a strong understanding of customer behavior, as well as the ability to leverage marketing automation tools to create personalized experiences at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • List growth management and list segmentation
    • Increase sign-ups by partnering with Category Managers and Marketing Managers to optimize sign-up creative and offers
    • Manage continuous list growth by monitoring sign-ups vs opt-outs and identifying areas for improvement
    • Segment email list based on actual purchase behavior and email open/click behavior  to identify never-bought, recently bought, and lapsed customers by product category and build targeted segments for pre-purchase, upsell, and cross-purchase flows
    • Continuously optimize email segmentation approach and analyses based on actual results

  • Campaign Strategy and Management
    • Devise and implement comprehensive automated email and SMS strategies for customer acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention in support of Category and Marketing strategies.
    • Create, manage and optimize automated programs leveraging advanced segmentation to create highly personalized automated campaigns that effectively move customers through the sales funnel, improve customer experience and increase conversion.
    • Develop and execute A/B tests to continually improve program performance, including testing of subject lines, content, and calls to action—experimenting with different approaches, and implementing best practices.

  • Analysis and Reporting
    • Partner with Spoonflower Data Team and marketing platform success teams to create infrastructure for continued and accurate analysis.
    • Analyze data to build and maintain a deep understanding of customer segments/cohort behavior, preferences, and needs to effectively tailor content and timing for maximum relevance and impact.
    • Monitor key performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions, etc…) to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare reports on trends and performance for presentation to senior management and other stakeholders as required.
    • Assist with developing strategies for collecting high-quality first-party data and implementing tactics to grow our consumer database—ensuring data is cleansed regularly, and that email programs comply with data privacy regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of previous marketing experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Lifecycle or email marketing role.
  • Strong domain knowledge of email, push, in-app, and SMS marketing channels.
  • Project lead on at least one major lifecycle journey mapping project, including identifying landmarks, writing communications, building them within a marketing automation platform, A/B testing and optimizing for results.
  • Analytical chops to define success criteria, analyze data and surface actionable insights.
  • Curious with a growth mindset and willingness to learn new skills as needed to be successful.
  • Proficiency in platforms such as Salesforce, Looker, and Adobe Analytics.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS for email template customization is a plus.
