Director - Investor Relations

Tenneco Northville, MI (Onsite) Full-Time

The Director of Investor Relations will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s investor relations strategy to support our corporate objectives and ensure that investors, ratings agencies, credit providers, and other stakeholders are well-informed about the company’s financial performance, business strategies, and future prospects. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, strong communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and senior management. This position will report to the Corporate Treasurer and will work closely with the CFO and the Corporate FP&A team.

Key Responsibilities:

Investor Communication Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive investor relations strategy to communicate key messages, financial performance, and strategic goals to the investment and credit communities.

Earnings Reporting & Presentations: Lead the preparation and presentation of quarterly earnings reports, press releases, investor conference calls, and other key communications with investors.

Investor Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with institutional investors, ratings agencies, analysts, and key stakeholders to ensure consistent and open communication.

Market Trends & Sentiment Analysis: Monitor market trends, investor sentiment, and competitor activities to provide senior management with insights into investor perception and opportunities for engagement.

Strategic Messaging & Positioning: Partner with senior management to ensure consistent messaging across all investor communications that aligns with the company’s long-term strategic goals and performance.

Investor Meetings & Roadshows: Coordinate and participate in investor meetings, roadshows, and conferences to engage with current and potential investors.

Investor Reports & Analytics: Prepare detailed reports on investor composition, analyst reports, and feedback from investors to inform corporate decision-making.

Crisis Management: Manage communication during periods of financial volatility or crisis, ensuring that the company’s message is clearly conveyed and aligned with corporate objectives.

Corporate Governance: Ensure that the company adheres to regulatory and compliance standards for investor communications, including disclosure requirements and best practices.

Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Legal, Communications, and Executive teams to ensure alignment on strategic priorities, financial disclosures, and corporate messaging.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in investor relations, corporate communications, or a related financial discipline, preferably with a publicly traded company.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and key performance metrics.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex financial information and business narratives into clear, concise messaging for the investment community.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess financial reports, industry trends, and investor behavior.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience managing relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and other stakeholders.
  • Crisis Management: Ability to navigate challenging situations and manage investor communications during periods of uncertainty or volatility.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in financial modeling, Microsoft Office Suite, and investor relations software tools.
