Manager - Supply Chain Business Intelligence

The Manager of Supply Chain Business Intelligence is responsible for managing end-to-end supply chain visibility including product and freight tracking, supply chain performance and trends. The Supply Chain BI manager will work closely with business leaders in Supply Chain and partner functions to identify and prioritize key business issues and information and insights to support timely decision making, while managing the Supply Chain BI Team of Analysts and Sr Analysts. The manager will also partner closely with IT and third-party data service providers to build a comprehensive and efficient supply chain data warehouse to support the company’s business intelligence objectives. The manager will define the Supply Chain Business Intelligence vision and roadmap, with guidance from the VP of Supply Chain Strategy. The Supply Chain BI Manager will lead the Supply Chain BI Team, provide director by translating business requirements into technical requirements, and holding the team accountable to deadlines, key milestones and proactive communication. The manager will lead the expansion of this function over time, hiring and developing Supply Chain Business Intelligence analysts.

Major Activities

Supply Chain Business Intelligence Vision & Roadmap:

  • Develop vision and plans to further supply chain BI capabilities.
  • Develop roadmap to incorporate communicating key insights to cross-functional business partners proactively
  • Gain alignment and resources to build capabilities near and longer term.
  • Manage team to automate and consolidate supply chain reporting into PowerBI to create a single source of truth and consistent and accurate KPIs

Supply Chain Data Acquisition, Development, and Management:

  • Partner with IT to create a comprehensive, efficient, and accessible supply chain data warehouse.
  • Work with external data providers and internal partners to acquire critical supply chain and partner data.

Coaching & Development:

  • Lead the Supply Chain BI team for new and existing report development and maintenance
  • Provide program management skills to organize the BI Team’s body of work, designate deadlines and drive to meet
  • Coach and develop skills of Supply Chain BI analyst.
  • Support BI and analytic skills development of Supply Chain functional partners.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Communicate priorities, workload, and next steps to VP of Supply Chain Strategy
  • Partner closely with functional leaders to develop insights that support key business processes, decisions and planning. 
  • Translate business partner requirements into technical actions for BI Team
  • Work with analytical and reporting partners across the company to establish best practices and consistent approaches to BI and reporting.
  • Conduct demos and training to gain adoption and build user skills and interest.
  • Provide data insights based on questions posed by business partners.

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

  • Excellent data management, reporting, and visualization Skills
  • Highly proficient in Power BI
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Access skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business-centric reports & analytics

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Business Analytics, Reporting, Data Management, Business Intelligence

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Highly motivated, results driven and self-directed
  • Strong business acumen

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Dashboard development in PowerBI (or at minimum, working knowledge of BI basics)

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Data Science, Information Systems

Preferred Special Certifications or Technical Skills

  • Data Analytics, Data Science certification or training a plus

Preferred Type of Experience the Job Requires

  • Minimum 8 years experience in Business Analytics, Reporting, Data Management, Business Intelligence or in a Project Management field overseeing Analytics functions
  • Working knowledge of SQL or other database management programming basics preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in highly dynamic, fast moving business environments with multiple priorities
