Environmental Engineering Intern

Arconic Lancaster, PA (Onsite) Full-Time

We’re currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our team as an Environmental Engineering Intern. This intern position is Full-Time with a minimum 12-week assignment for the upcoming summer from mid-May to mid-August. The selected candidate will receive a monthly salary as well as a monthly housing stipend. This position will be based at our Lancaster, PA location (see location-specific information below). 

About Arconic Internship Program

Why join us? Our interns have the opportunity to be part of real-world business challenges. Their skills are sharpened as full members of a project team, collaborating with colleagues, peers, leaders, and stakeholders. Each intern is paired with a manager and a mentor that will help to acclimate them to the company and the local area itself. Every intern is required to complete at least one project during their time with Arconic. This project will be presented to their location’s Lead Team, as well as in competition in our company-wide Intern Presentation Challenge, where all Arconic Interns compete against each other for cash prizes! 

In addition to the real-world, professional experience that an Arconic Internship offers to students, Arconic also aims to provide networking opportunities and personal growth. Additional activities that an intern will be able to participate in include, but are not limited to: professional sporting events, volunteer experiences, Meet-and-Greet lunches with the location Lead Team, Presentations and Q&As with Arconic leaders and C-Suite Executives, Plant Tours at other locations, and other local outings. The Arconic Internship Program is specifically designed to offer professional and personal development as well as a memorable experience for the aspiring professional.

About our Lancaster, PA location

Arconic’s Lancaster Facility is part of the Rolled Products North America (RPNA) group. We currently produce 68 alloys for over 400 customers. The facility has been in central Pennsylvania for 76 years and continues to thrive and grow.

Arconic Lancaster is located 45 minutes southeast of the state capital, Harrisburg, PA and approximately 90 minutes west of Philadelphia. Other easy to access metropolitan areas include Baltimore, MD (approximately 90 minutes south), Washington DC (approximately 2 hours south) and New York City (approximately 3 hours northeast). Working at our Lancaster, PA location puts you only minutes away from an assortment of shopping, dining, and outdoor activities. There are numerous eateries offering cuisines from all over the world (Hispanic, Peruvian, Italian, to name a few) Whatever your hobbies and interests are, our location’s surrounding areas has something for everyone!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support Environmental Engineers with current projects and initiatives
  • Attend all meetings with Environmental Engineer mentor
  • Participate in designated projects as well as day to day aspects of Environment Engineering work at the Lancaster, PA facility

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Willingness to take initiative to understand the business

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Environmental Engineering with an expected graduation date of December 2025 or May 2026
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • 3.0 GPA and above
  • Must be involved in at least 1 extracurricular activity (school club, part-time employment, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience or previous internship
  • Previous successful experience as an active member of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
