Camera and Mechanical Repair Supervisor

This position is responsible for supervising the Camera and Mechanical Repair teams, ensuring efficient operations, acting as the technical expert for all gear issues, and creating and interpreting complex policies, guidelines, and procedures. The Supervisor oversees a team of technicians responsible for repairing and maintaining both camera equipment and mechanical devices, quality checking repairs and order items, managing inventory, and adhering to safety protocols while providing technical guidance to their team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Team Management:
o Oversee the repair process, including component replacement, calibration, and system testing.
o Assign repair tasks to technicians based on their expertise and workload.
o Train new technicians on proper repair procedures for cameras and mechanical equipment.
o Monitor team performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency.
o Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues.
o Quality inspects ordered parts to ensure items meet established standards.
o Maintain and oversee comprehensive records of equipment maintenance and repair history.
• Technical Expertise:
o Diagnose complex malfunctions on a variety of camera and mechanical equipment.
o Troubleshoot technical issues and determine necessary repair solutions.
o Stay updated on the latest camera and mechanical repair technologies and procedures.
o Provide technical guidance and support to technicians during repairs.
o Oversee the complete repair process, including disassembly, cleaning, component replacement,
and reassembly.
Experience
• Knowledge of hand and bench tools with repair and technical work
• Extensive experience as a camera technician or mechanical repair technician
• Experience managing and motivating a team of technicians.
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols
Other (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
• In-depth knowledge of camera and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair
techniques.
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Clear communication with clients, technicians, and management.
• Efficiently manage workflow, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records.
Physical Requirements (if applicable):
The physical requirements described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary duties and responsibilities. When performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, crawl, twist, balance, reach, use hands and fingers to perform repetitive tasks and assemble/disassemble equipment. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds.
