Purchasing Buyer
Primary Responsibilities
1. Materials
-
Conduct material planning activities, draft and process purchase orders
-
Manage record maintenance of raw materials; MSDS, supplier quotes and other purchasing/receiving documents
-
Daily adjustment of inventory level, as required
-
Contact suppliers for quotes; set-up new materials in ERP/inventory management system
-
Voucher import raw materials suppliers
-
Perform material moves and adjustments in ERP system; prepare bills of lading
-
Cross train in other positions and provide support to other production teams or functions, as needed
2. Supervision
-
Direct work assignments; monitor and evaluate Team Member performance and provide feed-back
-
Provide training, coaching and counseling, as needed
3. Quality
-
Receive materials in ERP/inventory management system and validate receiving documents for accuracy
-
Conduct cycle counts, oversee inventory activities, perform root-cause analyses, as needed
4. Safety & Organization
-
Maintain a clean work area for safe and efficient operation, including replenishment of supplies
-
Follow all safety requirements

Wear appropriate safety equipment at all times
Position Requirements Applicable Experience/Skills/Abilities
Education:
-
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
-
2 year College degree preferred
Experience:
-
2 years purchasing and supervisory experience
Other:

Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; convey and receive information

General, verbal, and numerical intelligence
-
Detail-oriented and accurate

Keen sense of urgency

Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills including coaching, collaborating, and providing constructive feedback

Ability to critically analyze problems and develop effective solutions
