Purchasing Buyer

Artistree-DFW Airport

The Purchasing Buyer is responsible for monitoring raw materials inventory, planning, purchasing, and receiving of raw materials to ensure inventory levels are at/above required levels, responsible for supervision of Custodian and Warehouse Team Members; while following safety rules, meeting productivity standards and achieving attendance requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
1. Materials

• 
  
  Conduct material planning activities, draft and process purchase orders
  
  
• 
  
  Manage record maintenance of raw materials; MSDS, supplier quotes and other purchasing/receiving documents
  
  
• 
  
  Daily adjustment of inventory level, as required
  
  
• 
  
  Contact suppliers for quotes; set-up new materials in ERP/inventory management system
  
  
• 
  
  Voucher import raw materials suppliers
  
  
• 
  
  Perform material moves and adjustments in ERP system; prepare bills of lading
  
  
• 
  
  Cross train in other positions and provide support to other production teams or functions, as needed
  
  

2. Supervision

• 
  
  Direct work assignments; monitor and evaluate Team Member performance and provide feed-back
  
  
• 
  
  Provide training, coaching and counseling, as needed
  
  

3. Quality

• 
  
  Receive materials in ERP/inventory management system and validate receiving documents for accuracy
  
  
• 
  
  Conduct cycle counts, oversee inventory activities, perform root-cause analyses, as needed
  
  

4. Safety & Organization

• 
  
  Maintain a clean work area for safe and efficient operation, including replenishment of supplies
  
  
• 
  
  Follow all safety requirements
  
  
• 
  
  Wear appropriate safety equipment at all times

Education:

  High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
  
  
• 
  
  2 year College degree preferred
  
  

Experience:

• 
  
  2 years purchasing and supervisory experience
