Risk Management Specialist
Major Activities
- Recommends and implements effective liability claim management techniques and policies to mitigate claim costs, including denials, reserve, subrogation potential, and settlement recommendations
- Monitors the Legal Calendar for discovery, mediations, trials, and other dates to ensure all timelines are met appropriately
- Gathers and compiles sensitive company information and documents for discovery requests
- Responsible for the preservation of evidence in anticipation of litigation
- Participates in quarterly claim reviews, actuary meetings, and financial reviews
- Assists with other risk, safety procedures/manuals, operations support and liability functions
- Responsible for invoice accounting and processing
- Manages and reviews certificates of insurance from product vendors for insurance compliance.
- Assists the Manager - Regulatory Compliance by providing prompt product-related injury information

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires
- Multi-Line Adjuster license
- 3+ years of multi-state retail claim experience, including litigated claims management
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and can work independently
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related claim software
- Occasional planned travel
Preferred Type of Experience the Job Requires
- Action-oriented, independent, self-starter, comfortable working in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
- Retail experience a plus
