Supplier Risk Mgt. Analyst

Tenneco Southfield, MI (Onsite) Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Supplier Risk Management Analyst is responsible for the supply chain functions in vendor management.  This individual will develop, analyze and measure external suppliers performance.  This role will work closely with the distribution centers, purchasing, pricing and supply chain.  A successful candidate is one that can quickly assess key performance indicators (KPIs), such as material availability, on time in full (OTIF), inventory dollars, days on hand, shipping performance, transportation plans, and plant capacity to recommend optimal service levels and expectations. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Drive execution of supplier performance improvement plans and interface with internal and external partners to collaboratively pursue solutions and closure of action plans.
  • Align with all key internal stakeholders and prepare a clear mandate for the supplier intervention, regularly follow up on the mandate and ensure a smooth handover.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to create supplier development plans centered on quality, delivery, capacity and supplier process capability through:
    • Intervening with suppliers to determine root causes to supply plans and establish plans to bring them back to expected performance levels
    • Driving regular cadence calls for progress tracking to EDI and ASN tracking
    • Escalating any gaps and actions plans to stakeholders
  • Provide regular feedback to all relevant stakeholders on supplier support progress through:
    • Effective communication to internal and external groups and ensure appropriate escalation.
    • Ensure processes and tools are in place to manage crisis situations and assess overall supplier risk
  • Challenge plans to ensure sufficient and happening expeditiously as necessary
  • Document progress/ generate reports to be used in executive dashboard report outs
  • Develop rapport with external suppliers through setting clear expectations and holding them accountable

Desired Experience:

    • Previous supplier management and operational planning experience with a strong focus on supply planning, vendor management, and production scheduling
    • Strong understanding and experience of influencing end to end supply chains and overall business performance
    • Experience of developing and leading a team
    • Demonstrated ability to drive key metrics improvement (i.e. on time fill rate, Inventory Optimization, Forecast Accuracy, Productivity) through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions methods
    • Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement projects.
    • Experience of working within and developing the usage and capability of ERP / MRP and Supply Chain Planning software tools like Kinaxis and SAP
    • High level analytical skills, with the ability to identify and provide recommendations to resolve end to end planning bottlenecks and constraints
    • Ability to influence senior level cross-functional stakeholders creating process change and aligned decision making
    • Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically
    • Ability to perform in dynamic and fast paced environment
    • Ability to prioritize resources and workloads to both resolve short term priorities while retaining focus on long term strategic plans
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft office suite. 

Minimum Requirements

Education:  Bachelors or Advanced Degree in Supply Chain, Operations or related discipline or 10 years of direct supply chain experience.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working in either a supply chain, demand planning, financial planning, or inventory planning capacity and/or related supply chain management including design, implementation, and execution of S&OP or S&OP-related processes preferrably in the automotive industry.
