Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for identifying, designing, developing, and demonstrating new technology that improves manufacturing processes and supports specific manufacturing initiatives identified by the business units or corporate R&D programs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying, designing, developing, and demonstrating new technology that improves manufacturing processes.
  • Supports specific manufacturing initiatives identified by the business units or corporate R&D programs.

Specific Duties

  • Promotes continuous improvement in environmental and safety issues by ensuring that equipment is designed, modified, or repaired to maintain and improve safety and environmental performance.
  • Reacts immediately to safety issues as they arise.
  • Follows all environmental and safety policies and procedures.
  • Provides project leadership on continuous improvement ideas:
    • Equipment and equipment design
    • Process simplification and improvement
    • Project Coordination between manufacturing, technical, support and    financial groups.
    • Preventative and Predictive maintenance
    • Lead role on quality for control plans & PMEA’s
    • Major role in quality CAR team’s implementation of corrective actions
  • Ensure that equipment can produce parts to specification.
  • Ensure that equipment produces parts efficiently.
  • Provides input to Capital and Expense Project Plans and track spending.
  • Writes and submits Capital and Expense Projects, including analysis for justification.
  • Provides training and work instructions on new equipment and process changes.
  • Coordinates ECAP's and Process and Routing Changes.
  • Keeps updated on the latest engineering techniques that apply to processes used and communicates information to others.
  • Develop cost reduction ideas.
  • Provides technical support for Plant Safety activities including ergonomics at the workstations.
  • Performs any other duties so assigned.
  • Provides support as requested by Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Job is on site at plant.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience desired in a manufacturing/process development environment.
  • Experience desired with machine vision system development and integration.
  • Technical knowledge desired of PLC signal processing and hands-on experience with transducers, signal conditioning & data acquisition.
  • Knowledge & experience desired of N.I. LabView & IMAQ development software.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision, well organized, willing to take initiative & keep abreast of rapidly changing advances in technology.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills required.
