Planogram Specialist

Michaels Irving, TX (Onsite) Full-Time
Support Center - Irving

This position supports merchandising by executing planogram documentation to meet the goals established during the analysis and the decision-making process that determined the scope of the project. Supports Store Operations by providing specific merchandise directions for the stores that are visually appealing to the customer, and efficient and functional for the store to implement and maintain.

This includes incorporating Fixtures, Signing, and Marketing in the creation process and communication to the stores. This position will ensure sales and margin performance of planograms are optimized through knowledge of product assortment and the most effective visual display standards.

Major Activities

Documentation

  • Documentation - Creation of planogram documents to established store and JDA standards, ensuring that relevant information is contained in the documents: SKU assortment, fixturing, marketing, etc.
  • Calculate planogram version workload to cross functional partners.
  •  Provide accurate and detailed information on displays, fixture builds, and product moves.
  • Store planogram max validation based on product measurements and display.
  • Calculate accurate planogram version workload to all cross functional partners.
  • Works with merchants and other cross functional partners to adjust planograms quickly during the year to facilitate speed to market for products experiencing rapid sales growth that would improve overall assortment performance.

Planogram Integrity

  • Ensure all planograms adhere to Michaels standards of presentation.
  • Verify that all information on hathe rd copy of planogram is accurate and complete.
  • Recommend modification to nonconforming planograms based on strategic mission, Make it Fit initiative, space & visual presentation guidelines.
  • Execute the planogram in store to ensure all details and directions are complete and functional for the stores to set efficiently.

Information Management

  • Facilitates development & direction of departmental flow, adjacencies, & product display with support center partners through efficient and effective sharing of space planning information.
  • Act as a positive, proactive communication resource link to Merchandising and the vendor community as needed for each project with regard to analysis, presentation, and store documents.
  • Research historical buying and replenishing trends impacting space planning and proactively recommend solutions to potential issues.

Analysis

  • Verification during the project that financial, inventory and presentation goals are being met.
  • May also require some analysis to support approval of a specific project or success of the project post-set.

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Minimum Education

  • Associate degree or equivalent retail experience

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills

  • JDA experience Minimum Type of experience the job requires
  • 0-2 years of experience

  • Strong interpersonal & leadership skills
  • Effective in a fast paced, changing environment to adjust urgent needs due to freight, allocation, and product issues.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills; must be able to communicate ideas effectively & concisely with all levels of management.
  • Project management, organizational, analytical, problem-solving skills, & detail oriented.
  • Process-oriented, proven business partner, effective at cross-functional collaboration & achieving results through others.
  • Highly motivated individual & self-starter.
