Logistics specialist
Job Purpose:
To provide daily direction to the warehouse operatives to ensure the department can meet the service and financial performance targets on a consistent basis. Work with WCT colleagues to ensure efficient, and accurate high quality service to all customers.
Responsibilities:
- Liaising with Supervisors to determine where to put the resource on a continual basis throughout the day to ensure the right numbers of people are in the correct area of operation to ensure efficiency.
- Handle operator queries and provide answers to minimise down time.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in processes to raise standards of performance.
- To work with supervisors to regularly review team output and quality to ensure actions can be taken on bench marks not achieved.
- Daily KPI reporting.
- Vision system operation.
- Daily reporting of errors, pack configs, serial capture, etc
- Daily work flow release.
- International ASM Management
- Liaise by mail & phone to sales teams.
- Clear diction as radio & phone use is essential.
- Work with team leaders, to ensure effective movement of labour to current work volume.
- Will be required to train others, on SAP & WMS systems as well as other prep desk functions.
- Understanding of AVS & SOH booking slots - re-work & customer specific requirements.
- Liaise by mail & phone with customers.
- To meet daily key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets.
- Show care, compassion and consideration when interacting with all colleagues.
- Assist with regular and ad hoc site activities such as full inventory checks, system development and implementation.
- Support and assist newly appointed or less experienced colleagues by providing training and guidance as appropriate.
- Deputise and provide cover for absent colleagues as and when required, and regularly refresh on processes to ensure this can be achieved effectively.
- Any other duties that may be required from time to time for the smooth running of the business.
- Ensure immediate and wider management team are pro-actively informed of any situation or behaviour that presents actual or potential risk to the following: Wellbeing of others, compliance with TD SYNNEX’s code of conduct, ability to achieve service level and financial objectives.
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Detailed understanding of Operational Processes
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Keen to learn and acquire new skills, responds positively to feedback
- Demonstrates initiative and contributes ideas;
- Pragmatic approach to problem-solving without cutting corners
- Flexible, adaptable, and calm when working under pressure
- Assist in the promotion of a fair and just culture by being open, honest, supportive and respectful to others.
- Actively demonstrates and promotes TD SYNNEX’s shared values
- Analytical thinking
- Knowledge of SAP as advantage, MS Office
- System knowledge within logistics
- Good Excel skills
- Experience in logistics / operations at least 3-5 years
- Knowledge of databases, SAP BW is an advantage
