About the Role
As a Product Designer at Yahoo Finance, you will collaborate with a talented and diverse team to craft delightful and intuitive design experiences that resonate with our users. You’ll be involved in the product development cycle from start to finish—from strategy development, to brainstorming, prototyping and shipping innovative designs that set new standards for the product.
Lead Design Initiatives: You will be the design lead on large, high-impact projects, and take ownership of key product features, shaping their design and ensuring they align with business goals.
Collaborative Design Process: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that designs address user needs, company objectives, and the overall vision for the product.
Innovation and Inspiration: Contribute your fresh perspectives to continuously improve and evolve the design process, helping to create new opportunities for growth and value creation.
Mentorship and Growth: Support and mentor fellow designers, sharing your expertise in user experience design, design systems, and best practices to elevate the team’s overall design capabilities.
Thought Leadership: Provide forward-thinking solutions to complex design challenges, and help establish the design vision and strategy for cross-functional teams.
User-Centered Design: You’ll always advocate for the user, ensuring that every design decision is made with their experience, needs, and journey in mind.
Qualifications:
Location: Mountain View or San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid work environment)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in product design, with a deep passion for creating meaningful user experiences.
Design Expertise: Proficiency with UX software such as Figma, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your design solutions—focusing on how you’ve solved real user problems and created impactful user experiences.
Design Leadership: Proven ability to take the lead on design strategy and foster collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to advocate for design decisions and collaborate with diverse teams.
Continuous Improvement: A track record of continuously refining and evolving product experiences, streamlining workflows, and improving designs based on user feedback and testing.
Passion for Scalable Design: A deep love for design systems and a commitment to maintaining them for consistent and seamless user experiences.
Technical Understanding: Solid foundational knowledge of HTML and CSS to communicate effectively with engineering teams.
Additional Skills: Experience in data visualization or copywriting is a bonus.

) page to learn more.The compensation for this position ranges from $128,250.00 - $266,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
