Maintenance Planner

Arconic Massena, NY (Onsite) Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Planner creates and sustain the necessary standards for Planned Work Execution every day in the area under their responsibility that aligns with departmental operating plans in the areas of safety & health, environment, cost, quality, and employee & labor relations.

In this role, you will:

  • Development and adherence to “Operating Rules” focused on effective utilization of preventative maintenance plans, tradesperson skills and equipment availability, in order to help the production department deliver the Manufacturing Plan.
  • Effective application of the “EHS Model” to create a safe, healthy and environmentally compliant place of work, and a culture which constantly prioritizes and promotes adherence to these principles.
  • Act as the accountable person (SPA) for a particular EHS subject, and effectively complete the duties associated with compliance to the subject.  Duties may extend into Production areas or even extend to site-wide duties.
  • Planning, scheduling and procuring parts for planned maintenance jobs in an efficient way according to maintenance best practices. Developing an asset maintenance history through properly documenting repairs and feedback.
  • Develop planned work metrics and create follow up orders for work identified through the planning process.  Converting individual work requests to work orders and progress to the schedule.
  • Manage the crane preventative work in compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • Support the maintenance department in obtaining parts when there are critical equipment breakdowns.
  • Maintain communications with production, ensuring the work is prioritized properly and supports both production needs as well as long term equipment needs.
  • Participating in equipment or maintenance “Lean Events” when necessary to improve any performance associated with their area. Continually move the location towards to planned and predictive maintenance.
  • Create managed inventory areas to support the needs within the location.
  • Taking ownership of a Personal Development Plan to improve their own personal performance and effectiveness in the Planner role.
  • From time to time, Planners may be required to perform other duties as requested by their Line Manager, and whilst not listed above, these duties will be appropriate to the level of responsibility held and to the scope of the role as defined.

You have: (required) 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Maintenance, procurement or aluminum production experience
  • PC skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS-Outlook
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of the Extrusion & Fabricating production facility, the processes, materials, and people with demonstrated knowledge of Maintenance practices 
  • PC Skills: Oracle
  • Associates/Bachelor’s Degree
  • Communication skills
  • Problem solving ability

Base Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00
