Quality Support Advocate

Arconic Davenport, IA (Onsite) Full-Time

Arconic is currently in search of a Quality Support Advocate to join our team in Davenport, IA. We have an immediate need for a Quality Support Advocate at our facility in Davenport, Iowa.  The successful candidate will be responsible for providing delegated source inspection and connect Customer quality requirements to the shop floor across all shifts.  The candidate will be required to ensure compliance to metal integrity standards (i.e. conductivity, thermal processing, quench, etc.). The role requires disposition (PASS / SCRAP) in process material for surface quality, metal integrity, traceability, and other key quality requirements.  The role also serves as Quality help chain for Teams.

Major activities/key challenges

  • Interpretation of multiple Customer quality requirements across all product categories.
  • Evaluation and disposition of processing records for compliance to Metallurgical standards.
  • Drive Customer Satisfaction Score [NPS] through effective communication and problem solving of Customer issues.
  • In depth knowledge of industry surface standards.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Working knowledge of Arconic Business System (Lean Manufacturing) principles and Human Performance tools.
  • Working knowledge of Shop Floor, Unisys, and other operating systems related to material production.
  • Expert knowledge of surface quality requirements.
  • Working knowledge of aluminum manufacturing processes.

Major Customers

This individual will interface regularly with Metallurgical Engineers, Field Service Engineers, Hourly Teams, Quality Star Points, External Customers, Area Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, Supply Chain Management, Team Coaches, and/or SQM Techs. (service quality monitoring techs)

 Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience
  • Aluminum manufacturing experience-basic understanding of different aluminum alloy compositions
  • Work experience and knowledge of principles and concepts of lean manufacturing (ABS) used for achieving business results
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with 'out of the box' thinking
  • Results oriented, with ability to respond quickly
  • Effective listening skills
  • Experience working in a union environment
